Was watching 'in the club' tonight and liked the green dotty gown the mother of twins was wearing in ghd hospital. It got me wondering whether I should buy one but then j wondered if hospitals gave you a gown thing? If so is it just the ones with the open back show your bottom to the world ones?

Yeah the ones they give you will likely be the tie round the back flash your bottom style, that's certainly what I had in my hospital!

You can buy fancy hospital gowns but they are quite expensive (£20+), you might prefer to get a couple of cheaper nightdresses. Primark have some that are only £4 or £5, and have buttons down the front for easy breastfeeding access. I certainly felt more 'human' the next morning after birth when I could shower and change into proper clothes rather than a gown

Yeah Primark have lots of button PJs and button nighties at the moment. I'm getting some, knowing me I'll be one of the sicky ones of the painkillers and my maternity pants will leak so going with dark colours and cheap enough to throw away! :)

The hospital may not give you a gown. When i had ds they didnt but i wish they had as i threw up all over my clothes in fairly labour, then blood got on my second t-shirt at the end of labour. My poor mom had to take the home to clean for me, whilst i was in hospital.

I would definately say a few very very cheap nighties/t-shirts for labour and some very cheap dark coloured pj's for after labour on the postnatal ward.

I've done primark! Bought 2 nighties one 14-16 (for birth) the other 10-12 for post birth (ambitious?) as I'm a size 8 pre pregnancy. Yay. Also got a cheap waffle dressing gown
