What do new stretch marks look like?

I've had a quiet day with nothing much to do, hence I've been lazing around the flat examining my body. Found some stretch marks on both thighs, which I don't think I've noticed before. They're pale, silvery and flat. Not very noticeable. I can't figure out if they're old (from puberty) or new (from pregnancy). I always thought new stretch marks would be pinker - am I right? There's nothing on my bump yet.

I have fine silvery ones on my thighs from puberty, from a growth spurt. New ones are purple.

all of mine are pale either from puberty or pregnancy. I can tell what are new as they are all around my belly button, but have been quite lucky as have not had that many (knowing my luck, now I have said that, am gonna wake up with load of the)

My puberty ones were never really red or bright, they're fine and silvery now.
The ones I got the day after dd was born Angry were very pink and angry looking, faded quickly and now look silvery.
I'm just waiting for the second lot to arrive after dc2 is born. Another special something to look forward toHmm

I have silvery ones from growing/shrinking on my thighs.

My bump ones are a kind of purple/red/maroon colour. They are thin and kind of radiate upwards from my pubic bone over the underside of my bump- like a tree or a delta of a river. I hope they'll fade to white/silvery over the next couple of years but am not that bothered, my crop top days are over anyway.

At what stage do stretch marks appear during pregnancy? I had such terrible puberty stretch marks, my breasts and thighs are covered (faded now) so i am dreading the inevitable.
I am just about beginning third trimester, and haven't had any stretch marks yet. I am using millions of products and drinking lots of water. Is there hope!??

Squid they can come at any time. I think it's down to your skin rather than what you use. Mine appeared the day after dd was born Hmm so I really hoped I'd escaped them! No such luck.
My mum is totally stretch mark free so I don't get it from her.

I didn't get any last time squid, it's not inevitable. I have to say it is nothing to do with anything I did, didn't use any creams or anything. I didn't have a particularly big bump.

32 weeks with 2nd pregnancy and none so far. Plenty of my friends only got them when they went overdue so you never really know till it's over!

Oh and I have some from puberty so I don't think that's really an indication.

Yes I only got them in the very last couple of weeks of pregnancy, I also went a few days overdue.

My puberty stretch marks are silver, I've got bran spanking new stretch marks at the bottom of my boobs, under my nipples and they are quite purple! I'm pretty sure they go silver after time so they're probably old :)

I didn't get any till 35 weeks, and they are all pale, but huge gaping gashes... Don't like them at all :)

That should have been a sad face :(

Mine rocked up at about 35 weeks, or at least that's when I noticed them when looking sideways in the mirror at my naked bump, my hips were the worst afflicted area, only got a few minor ones on front of my actual bump. Also got a few on boobs, thighs and calves presumably from the general weight gain.
My Mum didn't get any stretchies at all, thought I'd be the same but no such luck! DS is 9 now and all have faded to silver and wrinkly where I've shrunk back down.

I remember at 40 weeks I was showing a friend my bump (she'd asked to see it) and commented that I had managed to avoid stretch marks and she said "well what are they?" Bump was covered in purple-y red marks. Was gutted. They really did appear overnight from nowhere!

All silvery now. Can only really see them when I have a tan.

Also got a lot on my boobs from when milk came in, boobs much bigger post pregnancy that during.
