I've just hit the 12 week mark and still feel sick, I can wake up in the morning and feel fine but by 10AM i'm feeling sick again. it seems more when i cough at the minute but i've got a bottle of water with me everywhere i go because i feel like i've lost my breath every time i start heaving. I've not got my scan for two weeks and i don't know when i've next got midwife but i hate this feeling and i'm going away next year travelling to blackpool and so frightened i might end up actually being sick. any advice on what i can take to ease the nausea? Thanks

Unfortunately not all nausea disappears after the first trimester. I felt sick or was sick/wretching every day up until about 18/19 weeks.

Now 22 +3 and still have some horrid days and some ok days.

I found eating little and often helped - things like almonds are good, ginger nuts, tea biscuits. Ice cold water also helps.

I wear sickness hands which I think have helped and also got accupuncture which has made a difference.

I was always worse when tired so get plenty of sleep and take it easy - hopefully it will pass soon!

I ate a lot of sweets, but unfortunately the nausea stuck around until I gave birth. I think that's unusual, though. Most people I know we're feeling better by 15/16 weeks.

Thanks. I wish i knew what sleep was lol. Since my kids have been off school and the weather seems to be hot at night i've got one of the kids waking during the night or not going to bed when they're told, last couple of nights my 2 year old keeps waking so i've ended up sleeping on his bedroom floor so i can get some sleep. I have noticed that when i get tired in the afternoon that i start feeling sick but i just drink plenty of water, I've a habit of preferring bottled spring water it seems to ease the nausea quite abit. I did have a few good days the past 2 weeks but last couple of days its come back. I've felt completely drained that i couldn't do anything.

Hate to admit it but I had it all through both times....like a cloud hanging over me constantly and actually sick every day also.

When I have birth it was like a switch had been flicked....just so nice not to feel like that anymore....

Hope it stops.... I think it normally calms down for most people.
