Just seen that Money Saving Expert have tweeted that Kiddiecare are closing all but one store. Make sure you spend your gift cards / look out for bargains...

I didn't even know they had stores. I've always ordered online from them. Maybe the onlune business is just more profitable? No retail space to rent, less staff costs etc.

I feel like they've only just opened the Lakeside one (or perhaps time has gone really fast). Doesn't sound good for them though.

Aren't they owned by Morrisons now? I'm guessing they'll be selling more through their stores.

They've only just opened one in Hayes as well. Perhaps they over expanded too quickly?

Oh no! I hate online shopping, especially for baby things. I like to see what I'm buying, especially as Kiddicare can be cheaper.

Morrisons bought it for £70 million a few years ago but didn't know how to run the business as mainly online and Morrisons are behind the times, now been sold for £2 million don't know to who though

It is to a private equity who will return it to online only. Morrison is behind the tines definitely wrt to online. Their original plan with kiddicare was to help themselves go online. Now they are partnered with ocado for that.

I heard they were looking for a buyer. The lady in the shop even hinted buying a pram in a different shop closer to home.
