amy83firsttimer Thu 10-Jul-14 19:11:41

After food definitely in my opinion!

Mintyy Thu 10-Jul-14 19:13:06

Why wouldn't it be?

allisgood1 Thu 10-Jul-14 19:13:58

I do about once every other week and I am only 31 weeks! Go for it!!

weebairn Thu 10-Jul-14 19:18:02

I have a small one once or twice a week. ah well.

coffeetofunction Thu 10-Jul-14 19:18:13

I've had the odd glass but was concerned about being so far on....it really has been a rough few days tho hmm

Mildpanic Thu 10-Jul-14 19:18:40

Oh god yes. If you feel like it trust your body.
I was the same at your stage and had a small glass, it was wonderful!

PoppadomPreach Thu 10-Jul-14 19:20:29

I suspect it will do more good than harm.......smile

Scoobsmam13 Thu 10-Jul-14 19:25:09

Nothing wrong with the odd glass of wine!

woodlandwanderwoman Thu 10-Jul-14 19:28:50

Quite agree with all the above, a little won't harm. Also worth noting that the most critical time for development is 6-12wk, of course the whole pregnancy is important but by 37 most of the hard work is done. Enjoy it!

Fairypants Thu 10-Jul-14 19:47:23

It's sometimes recommended as pain relief during early labour (or to slow down a fast labour) so I don't think one can hurt.

What woodland said, alcohol is less of a problem later on in the pregnancy.

Well I'm nursing a very small glass of red...defiantly feeling more relaxed wink

<feels guilty for having a slightly bigger than "small" glass last week>

DownstairsMixUp Fri 11-Jul-14 09:19:32

Go for it. I didn't drink at all first 12 weeks but have the odd cider in the back garden now and again now I'm 32 weeks. No judging here!

kmini Fri 11-Jul-14 09:48:34

Definitely ok, don't let anyone make you feel guilty about it either. Small glass drunk slowly, so your body has time to digest it. Plenty of research that says 1 glass a night after the 1st trimester, drunk slowly, makes no difference to the the baby's development. Enjoy.

kaykayblue Fri 11-Jul-14 15:33:19

No problem. I would personally consider drinking even one glass every night to be excessive, but the odd glass here and there - provided it's a small glass - is nothing to get worried about.

One thing I would recommend though is to make sure you always do it at home. Seriously, it's not worth the hassle of interfering busy bodies tutting at you or coming over to say bitchy things at you, if you do it in public.

One glass, once in a while, is fine.

As others have said, alcohol becomes less of an issue later in pregnancy, as the crucial brain development is done.

Kelly1814 Fri 11-Jul-14 15:51:44

Of course.

Chunderella Fri 11-Jul-14 21:33:11

There is no evidence that 1-2 units a week is harmful- all research has indicated it's fine.

amyjaney1984 Sun 13-Jul-14 12:46:20

Definitely! Everything in moderation. I have 1-2 glasses a week, topped up with soda water to make them last longer!

Jenninlw Sun 13-Jul-14 22:01:44

Mmmmmmm red wine

MummytoMog Sun 13-Jul-14 22:03:53

Mmm, might have a glass of wine. Om.

Agree - had a half of beer or small glass of wine at weekends throughout pregnancy. DSs don't seem to have suffered!

coffeetofunction Sun 13-Jul-14 22:15:34

I thought everyone would say no to a glass...glad I asked nowsmile
