Lots of cramping over the last week then last night started getting pain in top of my bump but now NOTHING! Saw MW Wednesday and baby only 2/5 palpable and cervix high and closed so i don't think it'll be a while!!!!! Free

I know what you mean. I'm trying not to do it cos at least at the moment baby is tucked up tight and not keeping me up all night!!!! That'll come soon enough!!

dd4 has been kindly prepping me for the sleepless nights for the last month. Joys of teething!

Baby was free at my mw app last wk, got consultant today at 3 so hopefully he'll tell me baby is half engaged at least. Doesnt feel like it though. (Please excuse excessive use of "baby" we dont know what we're having.)

I need to ask about babies position too. I woke up with the weirdest shaped bump today. I cant explain it; kind of like a huge indent in the bottom of my stomach with a huge bump on the left hand side. Yea, it was strange. I didnt think there would be enough room for that kind of movement now.

Sorry for rambling, its nice to have someone to chat through the last few days with.

Yes I know what you mean, nice to chat Grin. It's weird cos I can't wait to meet baby and to be able to move again but I know this is the last time I'll be PG, just don't think I could manage more than two. How do u cope with 5 of the little buggers ? Grin

I am 39+2 with my first. Was convinced it was going to arrive about 2 weeks ago. Now I'm starting to think it might stay in there forever! It's been 3/5's engaged for ages (about a year feels like) now.

evening all Smile

any baby news? today is (was) d-day and im still very much pregnant despite hosting a b.day party for my eldest dd's and supervising 60 children tonight.

The consultant app was a bit of a waste of time yest, all i got in response to positioning was a "yes baby is head down". Nothing was recorded in my notes about whether baby is engaged or not so i have no idea what baby is upto.

No news as such but I'm in early labour (hoorah) Typically it all kicked off about 10 last night after a really busy day and a sleepless night previously. I'm also supposed to be at my best friends wedding in a few hours time! Exhausted doesn't even cover it. Fingers crossed he'll make an appearance soon!

Good luck to everyone else Smile

just a very quick update, our baby girl was born in her waters this morning at 8.59am weighing 6lb 11oz.

labour was good and quick (despite nearly not getting there and having to give birth on the day assessment unit as labour ward was heaving lol). we are lucky enough to be home and settled with all our girlys.

i'll pop back in later. good luck ladies xx

congratulations south! hope the eclampsia isnt making you unwell! how was your 1st night with baby? will you be able to get home soon?

thanks for the msgs. i have been enjoying the new baby smell and cuddles alot (and every 2hrs through the nightWink ) feeding is going well and she is a huge hit amongst her sisters. Dd3 (age 5) did ask if we can change her name to lily though, apparantly its easier for her to remember because there are two lilys in her class lol

penguins - i had never heard that until the mw made a point of mentioning it yesterday and told us a story about fisherman lol hope the pains turn into something productive for you soon.

elvis - how was your curry? will you be needing a hotter one tonight?

Still driving myself mad with various symptoms but nothing much going on. All I got from the curry was an upset tummy Confused, think I'll have to bite the bullet and DTD tonight Hmm
Glad your other children are enjoying the baby too, am wondering how my own DD will react....
