Having had cats for nearly 10 years it's fucking sods law that I get infected for the first time in the early stages of pregnancy. I know I should step away from Google but everything I'm reading is really freaking me out.
The good news is that the chance of transmitting the infection in the 1st trimester is lower than later on (10-15%). The bad news is if my baby has been infected, the symptoms could be severe. It could also take years for any symptoms to show. This could be hanging over us for the next 30 years.
I know they don't routinely test in the UK but has this happened to anyone else? Positive stories/thoughts?
