Just curious, ladies in the third trimester how much weight have you gained so far and how pregnant are you?

I had my 31 week appointment the other day and have gained 7lbs exactly since my booking appointment. Midwife asked if id been eating enough/well, yet I thought 7lbs was reasonable by 31 weeks?

I'm 32+6 and have gained two and a half stone! I haven't been eating for two and have stayed fairly active (apart from in the first tri when I had a long bleed so ha to take it east for a while). I am carrying some weight on my bum and thighs but they don't look massive.

euro I think I just replied to your thread. I gained 3 1/2 stone by 32 weeks with my first child and managed to loose it all. Maybe that's why the midwifes are being twitchy as this is so little gain in comparison? But as for you being Worried about weight gain, please don't think your gaining too much. Your nourishing a little life and you can loose with weight afterwards x

I'm not worried at all! Far from it. I was a healthy BMI when I started and have always managed to lose weight when I have wanted to in the past by putting my mind to it.

Sorry if I sounded patronising euro I didn't mean to :-) I feel the other end of the scale, I'm now worried I'm going to stunt my baby or something be gaining so little :-S

Hi euro

My pre pregnancy weight was at 25 on my bmi but I was 5ft tall and 9st 2 which isn't fat at all and a quite slim size 8/10. I had gained 12lbs by 26 weeks and now at 35 weeks I have gained a total of 19lbs which apparently is low (An app I have says based on my height/pre pregnancy weight I should have gained between 20 and 28lbs by now). My Midwife has never asked about my weight as my baby is growing correctly and tbh, if you looked at me from the back, you'd have no clue I was pregnant. TBH, in the last few weeks, my sweet/chocolate craving has gone wild and I've probably over-indulged more than I ever would so I'm amazed at how little weight I have not put on x

mrsG my baby is IUGR so I'm not sure where it's all going, but it's not into the baby! Since I found out that the baby is teeny tiny, I have been trying to stuff myself full of healthy protein and calories in the hope that as much of the good stuff as possible reaches the baby. I can sort out the cellulite later!

Exactly! I couldn't understand why my baby was only 2 and half pounds (so also IUGR) when id gained 3 1/2 stone!

I'm hoping little weight gain doesn't make this one a titch too :-S

Good luck :-)

Think the extra food calories have been almost exactly cancelled out by missed wine calories. Sad

31 weeks. 1 stone 8lb
Had a BMi I of 19.5 when I started so think my body needs to put on weight in pregnancy so not concerned. Last time came off with breast feeding despite eating a tonne of cake and choc every day!

I'm 31 weeks and have put on 11 lb. my bmi was 21 before so normal. I think alcohol was probably a third of my pre-pregnancy calories though...

Over 2 stone for me now and I'm 33 and a half weeks. Looks like I'll put on more than the recommended weight gain but I'm not too worried. The midwife hasn't weighed me but just said I look ok so she doesn't want me to get caught up in numbers. I liked that attitude!

35 weeks and 2 stone 4 lbs. I started with a BMI of 21 and size 8/10 so slim. I'm not eating for 2, keeping active and everyone compliments me that I'm 'just bump'. So I'm actually quite surprised when I stand on the scales to be honest but I'm sure I'll lose it afterwards so I'm not losing too much sleep over it.

Started at 10st 6lb (at 5'11") now 21 weeks and weigh 11st 8lb... Sounds ok to me???? First timer here so don't really know if this is normal, but the whole weight gain thing definitely took a bit of getting used to as I've never, ever had a belly and like to be in control - eeekkkk! Grin
