I was wondering if anyone else suffers with any type of chronic pain? I have suffered for years and thanks to my lack of tolerance with medication the only thing I can take every day is cocodamol. I have been told by a specialist before we started trying and my doctor again today its fine during pregnancy and me being in agony with so much stress on my body is worse for the baby.
I still feel guilty though and also worry the pain could be worse as pregnancy progresses.
I have always suffered with migraines and for the last week they have been way more severe compared to normal. More pain I dont need and im very worried this will continue as im only 4 weeks or so and what if I cant cope!!!!

I suffer from Chronic pain. My Dr sent me on a Pain Management course before I became Pregnant. They were very nice but pretty much against all painkillers. I have since stopped taking my meds as I'm pregnant and I've yet to be able to get myself to a point where I can manage properly. I'm nearly 14 weeks and to be honest dreading the rest of the pregnancy. On the flipside, someone else from the course is also pregnant. They had a terrible first 4 weeks but are now flying along! So I think it just depends how lucky you are. I will keep my fingers crossed for you x

I have hyper mobility syndrome with chronic pain elements, before my first pregnancy I was taking 21 tablets a day (tramadol, paracetamol naproxen/diclophenac, amatriptoline and lanzaprazol) the pharmacist gave me a terrifying talk on miscarriage and drug addict babies when I asked him about th effects of the medication I was on during pregnancy so I ended up coming off it all cold turkey (not recomended!!) after I got my BFP. Once I got over he withdrawl from all my meds, I was incredibly lucky with my pregnancy and it was a very easy pregnancy, very little morning sickness in the first trimester, I actually found that taking it a little easier than normal I was able to cope without any medication and just my tens machine for the entirety of my pregnancy, (though labour was horrible and all the midwife would give me was gas and air >.>) my pain returned with a vengeance within days of me switching from bf to formula, so I have to assume that at least some of my pain has a hormonal cause?

The genetic councillor said that the level of relieve from pain during pregnancy was somewhat unusual however...

I started having chronic pain when I was 6 months pregnant and still suffer now a year on. I took solpodol when things were really bad when pregnant and just dealt with it the rest of the time.
Don't know how this will work when we ttc dc2.
