A lot of pain and annoyed.

I am 19+3. At my 16 week appointment I was asked if I had a urine sample with me, I said no I had not been given a pot but could easily do one there for them at that time, they said not to bother as not much to look for at 16 wks. Next appointment 28 wks.
Over the weekend I've been in some bad pain, nearly went to OOH but checked heartbeat and rested and felt a bit better. Today I can not walk to the car without stitch, my bump aches, there is constant pressure on my pelvis and i cannot laugh, and this evening couldn't even change gear in the car.

Doctor was very helpful got me to drop in a sample at 5:30 and then told me she found protein and has gone off for tests. Im pissed off that the midwife didn't just do a dip test those weeks ago, it seems I've probably had UTI for a while and now it's really bad.

Is this likely to harm the baby?
Is there anything I can do in the meantime to make it a bit better, likely a few days before I get results/prescription.
Could it be anything else?

Just want it sorted the pain is worrying me. Doctor just said as long as baby's movement is regular as usual not to worry.

Awww red that does sound frustrating! And sore! Not familiar with the causes of protein but the internet agrees that a uti is the most likely cause. Later in pregnancy they say it can be a sign of pre-eclampsia, but I think you're a little early for that. My best advice in the mean time is drink lots of water to try and help flush it through. Good luck! xx

Drink lots of water! It's unlikely the UTI would cause problems in a couple of days.

Is it pain peeing? Because some the symptoms you describe might well be round ligament pain (especially the stitch/movement thing) - so the UTI may not be as bad as expected, fx, but be feeling worse because of muscular issues.

It may be (TMI) poo or round ligament pain adding to the pain (I had a scary constipation + muscle pain moment, thankfully no UTI). I found resting on my side, paracetamol and natural constipation remedies like prune juice kept me 'comfortable' if not pain free.

They'll give you antibiotics which will clear it up.

You poor thing! I've just had ABs for a UTI, which didn't present 'as normal'. I had no pain peeing, but definitely was tender around lower abdomen where bladder was. While you're waiting for results, drink lots of cranberry juice - the more costly stuff with the lowest sugar content you can and the highest percentage of actual cranberry in it possible. This is what the MW told me when I was in your shoes and wanted to do something while I waited!

Thanks for replies. I have no constipation squiz, what did your round ligament pain feel like?
Results are back and although there's protein there's no infection, they want to take a look at me in the morning. It's really odd.
I can't walk a few steps without my bump hurting, my back hurts, my sides hurts, everything hurts! But it's all different pains, some stitch, some ache, some stabbing pain. I can't explain it properly but pain killers aren't helping. Hopefully get an idea of what it is and how to make it better tomorrow!
