Do Braxton Hicks mean an early labour?

Hi All

I'm 32 weeks and have been experiencing Braxton Hicks for about a week now. I get a strong like period cramp first thing in the morning, then about an hour later when I'm walking to work then a few hours later, just after I've eaten breakfast.

My mum has told me to pack my hospital bag now (I have hardly anything I need for it) as she's saying this is my body showing me I'm going to be in labour very soon. Shes guessing I only have a few more weeks left. Im not due until the 5th of July.

Can anyone advise, I don't want to go into labour just yet. Baby isn't fully cooked.

Not necessarily, I had BH from around 32 weeks. Just try to take it easy though! I found they got stronger / more frequent if I was stressed with work or rushing around at home.

I had them dreadfully the last two pregnancies and was a week or so late each time. This time I'm ignoring the DD and will anticipate things happening the following week!

I don't think so. I'm getting them now at 25 weeks and I expect to get to at least 41 weeks like my others.
They are practice contractions and I think you notice them more, and earlier, with subsequent pregnancies.

I had them from really quite early on (30 weeks ish). I went 12 days over in the end Smile

I dont think so. I was on time with mine, and had Braxton Hicks aplenty.

Had Braxton hicks from week 28 and DS arrived at week 40+5.. And i guess he would of stayed longer if I didn't had to get induced..

I had strong Braxton hicks brought on by walking for weeks and weeks before I went into labour 8 days overdue with DD1. I've started getting them now at 29 weeks with DD2 and I'm not expecting anything other than overdue again (although hoping to be pleasantly surprised Wink).

Nope. BH started at 32weeks with DC1, went 10 days over. Started at 26weeks with DC2, went into labour on due date
