Bleeding after sex!

Sorry it's me again :(

I'm 11 + 5 and when I went to the toilet immediately after sex there was a couple of drops of blood and a fair bit of pinky type blood on the toilet paper when I wiped :( I'm pretty sure it's stopped now I've wiped it away but I don't know if I should just leave it and put it down to sex or go to the emergency room and see if I can get an ultrAsound to put my mind at rest as the doctors aren't open today. Obviously don't want to waste anybodies time though so if it's normal then hopefully I can relax a bit.... God this pregnancy is just full of worry :'(

Even if you went to hospital they would not be able to do much for you if it was miscarriage setting in. However, bleeding in pregnancy is very common. You may have a weak cervix or your placenta has embedded low in your uterus. I would stay off intercourse until you have had your first scan. Watch out for pain and contractions down below. Most miscarriages happen before week 13. I miscarried at 12 weeks..Incidentally 4 days before my scan. Hope all is ok for you..

I had a low placenta and was told sex could cause bleeding so it could be that? You should definitely go to the hospital though. I wouldn't be able to rest until I knew what it was exactly and can imagine how scary it must be for you

Hi I've had this in both pregnancies. In my first one I called the midwives and was told it was common after sex and so long as it stops and there's not clots etc all is fine. Xx

Hi I had this and was told it's very common don't worry. Apparently it happens when you irritate the surface of the cervix it's coming from you though and not the baby. I had my twelve week scan on Tuesday and everything is fine. It did freak me out though so I didn't have sex till after my scan and since I haven't had any bleeding with sex. Don't forget your hormones are going crazy and this can lead to changes you would perceive as normal. If your worried though I would ring someone to get advice but I would guess they wouldn't do anything as your so near your scan date. I went into my GP at week eleven for this reason and they told me not to worry and to wait. Hope this reassures you a little, easier said than done I know. Good luck.
X

Thank you so much for all your help again! :) I rang the walk in centre, who advised me to ring 111 for advice. They got an out of hours doctor to ring and he said it's absolutely normal, and to try not to worry about it as the cervix is so sensitive at the moment and just to monitor it. Luckily it has completely stopped now so it was literally just after sex, and the only bit left over is just a tiny bit of brown blood :) Thank you again, feeling less worried but just want my scan to be now!! xxx
