I am somewhere between 5 - 7 weeks pregnant and I am CONSTANTLY hungry blush I am now on my second dinner of the day.

Has anyone else had this or am I just a big fat pig!?!?

Totally normal.. It will go away once placenta takes over. Which is around week 9/10

Congrats

Ducky23 Wed 30-Apr-14 21:55:44

alita7 Wed 30-Apr-14 21:56:24

very normal unfortunately

HappyAsASandboy Wed 30-Apr-14 21:56:58

Totally normal. It might actually be morning sickness - some people eat to relieve nausea! I am finding that I feel really sick if I haven't eaten in the last five minutes recently, though I haven't actually been sick yet touch wood.

I think your onto something happy! Been getting queesy if I don't scoff my face!

DH is staring on in amazement!

hartmel Thu 01-May-14 04:06:49

With my last and this pregnancy in the first and second half trimester I didn't put on weight but lost weight. Doctors don't know why.. And I ate a lot even at night that my DH is still amazed at how much I'm eating grin

Completely normal, I find it comes and goes throughout pregnancy. Tere are days I'm really not hungry and have I force myself to eat the minimum and days where I just NEED food, any food I'm just so hungry!

Congratulations on the pregnancy smile

Ducky23 Thu 01-May-14 08:43:16

Thanks guys, good to know it's not just me. I was getting to the point where I was starting to beleive the hunger was just in my head and I was going insane!

Hartmel, I'm jealous! I can feel myself getting flabby! Ha

MrsCouchman Thu 01-May-14 09:50:53

Yep I'm the same, only way I don't feel sick is when im eating x

beebop100 Thu 01-May-14 09:57:08

me too, I'm having to eat something every hour or I feel sick, I've put on quarter of a stone and I'm 7 weeks!

PickleMobile Thu 01-May-14 10:15:20

My first sign of pregnancy was being ravenous all day despite eating loads!

gamerchick Thu 01-May-14 10:17:22

It does make me laugh when doctors of the male kind say you only should eat an extra 500 calories to not gain weight. They don't have a clue how pregnant hunger can get grin

HavannaSlife Thu 01-May-14 10:19:35

I used to wake up in the night and need to eat a sandwich grin

Ducky23 Thu 01-May-14 10:33:55

500!!!! That is never enough!! blush

CbeebiesIsAboutToPop Thu 01-May-14 16:02:04

Gamer I'm on baby number 3 and my midwife was talking about nutrition in pregnancy, I admitted to putting on 3 stone in each previous pregnant and just feeling hungry all the time! I mentioned the 500 calories thing and said I was trying but was so hungry all the time I was eating more than that.
She laughed and said 'yes that's what make drs and women who have never has children say! Just go with your body and if your hungry baby needs food, don't eat for the sake of it, but eat if you need to'

I actually love my midwife!

CbeebiesIsAboutToPop Thu 01-May-14 16:03:12

Argh too many spelling mistakes to correct - male drs, you're, had children.

Stupid phone

Normal! I put on 2st in the first 16 weeks because I had the option of feeling constantly sick or constantly snacking.

Luckily my hunger went back to normal in the third tri and had no appetite in the third so my weight gain hasn't been too horrific!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Ducky23 Thu 01-May-14 18:47:22

Thanks guys grin doesn't help everything I'm eating is suuuper unhealthy! shock

LittlePink Thu 01-May-14 19:27:28

Im only 4.5 weeks and im constantly hungry and thirsty the last few days. If I carry on like this im going to put a stack load of weight on and I am worried about that. With my first I was sick for the first 18 weeks and couldn't eat anything so actually lost weight. Maybe things will change at 6 wks when MS kicks in like it did last time or it wont change and i'll just keep eating and eating!

Pregnantagain7 Thu 01-May-14 19:45:19

I'm 16 weeks and have put a stone on but actually don't care because I really can't stop eating! I'm now trying to be healthier but it's not easy when all I can think about is chicken bloody chow mein! I wake up excited about having breakfast it ridiculous I am seriously obsessed with food I'm scared I'm going to end up like a whale! smile

Ducky23 Thu 01-May-14 19:52:05

Hahah pregnantagain! Excited for breakfast! that is like me!! gringringrin
I don't really have other symptoms.

LittlePink Thu 01-May-14 20:08:21

Food and more food here please! Sitting here starving after a huge lunch and several snacks throughout the day. Its bordering on ridiculous.

Bobbi1234 Fri 02-May-14 03:47:19

I am about 9 weeks with my first pregnancy and I constantly feel sick (but not actually sick) but all I do is eat eat and eat some more as it is the only thing that helps me feel better. I have a job in a call center so I sit behind my desk and stuff my face with what ever calorific product I shouldn't have that takes my fancy that morning. But I have not acctually put any weight not (yet) I am very shocked by this as I am eating compleat crap. I can't wait to feel like a normal person again apparently this should be about the 12 week mark. I bloody hope so as I look like crap from being so knackered and so sickly all the time the other afternoon I fell asleep at work !! I don't know how long I can keep this a secret from every on ethe only person at work who knows in my manger. I never knew being pregnant would be so difficult and we only a few weeks gone xx

MrsWombat Fri 02-May-14 07:12:45

I'm pretty sure the first person to guess I was pregnant is the canteen lady at work. blush
