Birth balls - worth it?

I'm only 22 weeks but am finding sitting on my sofa and dining chairs really uncomfortable/painful for my back and am wondering if a birth/exercise ball might be worth a try, or if it's far too soon for that? Anyone got any experience?
Thank you!

I am 23 weeks with DC2 and use mine all the time. I found it the perfect height with DD too. Love mine Grin

It's worth a go if you're uncomfortable already and they do get you in the right position ie not slumped

By far the most comfortable seat in the house as time goes on. I also love kneeling on floor "hugging" my ball, it feels sooo good on my lower back.

Mine bust after 10 minutes of being sat on it Sad.

*Disclaimer I was carrying very large twins and the size of a house at the time but it still made me cry because I was so mahoosive I burst a birthing ball.

I found them very beneficial, most hospitals have them but of you like it might be worth taking it worth you. I used mine in early labour until I was able to use the birthing pool.

I didn't really use my birthing ball for labour, but found it invaluable from about your stage onward. The dc played with it for years afterwards as well.

great decision op! I loved rolling my hips on mine as I watched downton. I think it helps with optimal foetal positioning as well? Great help with ante natal yoga too.

you wont regret getting one, it made a HUGE difference to me, especially with the lower back pain and the aches the lower dd got and the larger I was
I was paranoid about breach and back to back and I religiously did all the exercises my mw suggested and it worked Grin
mine has been to two friends now who both loved it

We also used ours LOADS after the birth for settling baby. Bounce bounce bounce bounce

The birth ball came! Blew it up, sat on it, and it's kind of painful... Did anyone else experience this? Wondering if it will take a while for my muscles to get used to it?

Yes mssleepyhead. I didn't enjoy sitting on mine in either pregnancy. It gave me backache. I did persevere towards the end to help engage the head - but it didn't give me the relief I was hoping for!

Doing figures of 8 on mine as we speak, as part of Operation Evict Baby!
Although I do feel a bit of a hippo as I think it's slowly going down!
TK Maxx has a good range Grin

I used one of those huge orange space hoppers. I needed the horns to stop me rolling off.
