Oh no just seen article in the daily mirror about Mumsnet been hacked by this new heart bleed virus!!!! Everyone change your password!!!!!!

Umm...have a look at the very top of the "Active Threads" list. Look for the bright red stickied post. This is not news to 99% of MN.

It's not a virus, don't worry. It's an error which affected many sites, a loophole in their encryption buried away, and could have made it easier for hackers to find personal details.

It is unclear whether any hackers ever actually used this loophole or if they, like the programmers, were clueless.

It's resolved now: if you're worried, simply change your password!
