Wedding rings and pregnancy

Basically, we're you able to wear your wedding rings all the way through your pregnancy?

I not, when did they come off and how long post natal was it before you could wear them again?

I'm 19 weeks and already have to take it off at night as it hurts my fingers as they swell at night!

I took mine off about 37 weeks with DD1 I think. Am still wearing it at nearly 39 weeks with DC3. I always take it off at night anyway though.

Can't remember exactly but they were very tight by 20 week scan and I'm sure off after that until baby was about 2 weeks (actually engagement ring was a few months as it's high set so always caught still does)

Thanks. I'll probably have to ditch them soon as are rather right today as it's been a warm one. Have rather small size J fingers usually which probably doesn't help the swelling x

I took mine off around the 20 week mark and wore them on a necklace. Can't remember when I put them back on but I think it was about a month after birth

i wore mine on a chain around my neck for a few years actually until the babies were out of the way and i'd lost a stone. Just make sure if you do that, to get a good strong chain and have the fastenings soldered shut. (mine was a good chain but the link between the chain and the closure was not soldered and it came apart. No big deal to have done though)

Mine got wedgrd on at about 30wks.

I was on the cusp of being whisked in for an emcs and they wanted the ring off for that - they'd have had to inject an epidural in my finger to get it off!

So, perhaps best to take ot off now?

Congratulations Thanks

Mine were off at 31 weeks and I got them back on yesterday only 11 days after delivery! But I have VERY severe swelling from fluid retention.

I've given up on mine and put it on a chain this week, I swell up badly when hot at the best of times and at 29 weeks pregnant I've been boiling for the last five months. Feels weird not having it on my finger!

I had to take mine off by week 25 it's still fits but when my hands swell I don't want it getting stuck so just took it off untill had bub. Feel naked without it :(

Took mine off about 36/37 weeks I think, back on by 6-7 weeks (definitely wearing both wedding & engagement rings in a picture taken at 8 weeks, so some point before then!)

I took mine off at about 25 ish weeks I think, but went and bought a cheap larger one for about £40 that I have been wearing because I didn't like being without. It looks bit rubbish close up, but does the job for the next few weeks.

I didn't need to take mine off at all. This time I'm 28 weeks and it's still fine. Aren't you supposed to let your midwife know if you have any swelling? She asks me every time I see her.

I took mine off at 20 weeks with twins and I'm still waiting to get them back on again 16 months after they were born! I still have another 10kg+ of baby weight to lose though.....

Still on at 30 weeks, don't remember taking them off last time but most of my swelling seems reserved for my right ankle so guess there's nothing left for my fingers.

DD is 18 months old and I've just given up and they are being enlarged! I think I wore them until 38 weeks so I was sure they'd fit again soon.

Mine got stuck at about 30 weeks during my last pregnancy.

They are still stuck, three years later Blush

I wore my engagement ring right through. In fact I've worn it constantly for the last 20 years, put on lots of weight but fingers have stayed the same

Took mine off at 39 weeks with dd1. They still fit but I didn't want to wear them into hospital. Put them back on the day I came home from hospital.

37 weeks with dd2 because they no longer fit and couldn't get them back on until about 3 weeks after having her.

I've just taken off my engagement ring and another ring I always wear at 21 weeks. I've still got my wedding ring on for now but I suspect it won't last much longer. I don't want to take it off!

Kept on throughout first pregnancy. Am now at 28 weeks and don't feel any tighter...

When mine got too tight with dd1, hubby bought me a plain gold band from argos to wear instead as I said I felt naked without my rings on! Due in September with dd2 so I think the Elizabeth Duke ring will be getting another outing this summer!

I didn't need to take mine off in either pg, but h did take them for me when we got to hospital both times as I was worried the heat there would make my fingers swell & if I ended up with emcs (which I did, both times) they might end up cutting them off. Put them straight back on afterwards.

I wore mine all the way through with no problems, I even kept it on during my c-section.

I took mine off at 30wks, bought a silver wedding band in a bigger size and a bigger size 'fake' engagement ring with a mahoosive cubic zirconia in.

I may try old ones back I today after reading this. Dd is 5 months today.

I took mine off at 30w as it was getting a little snug; we have bought a cheap alternative band for me to wear until everything has settled. I am very glad I did take it off as the ring I was wearing on my right hand, which has been on for nearly ten years, had to come off - via my dh's Dremmel! But this had been tight on me for a few years so I should have taken it off way earlier.
