Pregnancy skin tags

Anyone else have experience with these?

Quite embarrassing really, I have quite a few now in my neck (am 37 weeks).

As it turns out my GP practice has a special clinic for removing them and I'm going next week. I just wonder if / how it will work though. 2-3 are a bit bigger and I expect they might cut those off, but the rest are tiny.

If they leave all those little ones, do you think they'll disappear automatically post birth? I'm not a very vain person but feel a bit self-conscious wearing necklaces etc.

Thank you!

I've had skin tags removed in the past (not preg related) what they usually do is freeze them off with liquid nitrogen. Doesn't hurt at the time, but they can go very red, inflamed, liquid filled and sore over the next few days (mine were prob worse as between legs & so rubbed. Eventually they will scan over and fall off, but they might leave a bit of a scar, and depending on the shape they might need doing a second time... Just to be warned they might not be pretty for a month or so... But my mum had some done on her face and you could barely tell!

I had them in my last pregnancy. Really hated them :( I twisted them until they died off… the last one to go was one on my eyelid… ouch.

They didn't automatically go after birth I'm afraid, but at least they stopped appearing.

Hm, if it's going to be quite uncomfortable for a while after perhaps is better wait until some time after the birth. Will see what they say next week. I actually thought they would cut them off which might hurt at the time but not so much afterwards.

Anyway, many thanks. Sorry you both had these too.

I got these really badly with DS and was pregnant with before he hit one so had no time to deal with them. DD is now 15 months & I noticed just the other day that they have disappeared Smile Remember last summer they were still v bad and snagged my necklaces so no idea when they went Shock

Skin tags and additional acne scarring. No idea what that's about! Had a load of scars (keloid) zapped after my last prgnancy and will need it again this time. Ridiculous side effect of children!

Thank you. I feel better knowing I'm not the only one! A ridiculous side effect of pregnancy indeed. Encouraged by the thought they might disappear though...

Mine went darker and disappeared after I had the baby. All except one, which I suppose I should have removed somehow.

I seem to have these now - pg with DS2, and had no idea what they were, thought they were moles! Didn't even realise they were common in pregnancy. Blush
Mine are on the underside of my boobs, and are tiny brown rounded bumps, not long tags.
Saw the doc this morning, he said they might well fade away after birth if I'm lucky.
