I'm 28 weeks pregnant and work in a hospital. For the last month I've been looking after some patients with CMV infections and never thought anything of it. Today one of my colleagues said "I take it you're immune to cmv". I had no idea. I contacted my midwife who spoke to one of the obstetricians. They have advised I get a blood test to see if I'm immune. If not, apparently I shouldn't be doing my job!
This is all a bit late because I've been exposed for a month. I've never heard about this before today and now I'm ridiculously worried (especially after a googling session!).
Does anyone have any advice? Apparently you can be infected without any symptoms and I'm beside myself that baby has come to harm.
