hi everyone. im due on Friday but have a awful feeling I could be pregnant.

dh has had snip but I have been pregnant 4 times and sometimes its just unmistakable.
im hoping im wrong but here goes.

I have taken 3 first responses tests. all have dark tips at top and bottom and a fainter line through.

sainsburys own test keeps coming up with a dark but skinny line- I have read about these and apparently mostly negatives.

so today I trotted to the shop bought a 2 pack got my mum who is def bot pregnant too pee on one and I did other
. again the skinny line comes up for me nothing for mum.

im not talking anymore tests anymore im driven demented.

anyone had any of these and been negative ir positive?

dh is booked in for a check for his semen tom to double check

I had very similar on a FR last month that I'd broken open

www.canyouseealine.com/view_home_pregnancy_test.php?testID=45263

I wasn't pregnant. I wondered if it was something to do with opening it?

ladythatlunches Wed 05-Mar-14 19:29:17

oooo maybe. that's what it is then ??

frigging awesome smile

I clicked on the link and came back to say you can't read them after you break them open. Invalidates the test. Did the line show up before you dismantled them?

ladythatlunches Wed 05-Mar-14 19:39:25

I always just pop them open.. always have :0/ wee then pop.

I thought it was fine to open them unless they are digital

ladythatlunches Wed 05-Mar-14 19:44:59

the one me and my mum did I pooped both open hers waa completely neg.

hmmmmaybe dodgy pack

HarderToKidnap Wed 05-Mar-14 19:46:45

I have opened others that haven't done it. But I def wasn't pg last month.

I guess try again in 2 days. And don't pop!

ladythatlunches Wed 05-Mar-14 19:48:05

did you do any others last month? was it just that one that had the dodgy line?

Raxacoricofallapatorius Wed 05-Mar-14 19:49:32

Nope, any test. You are quite likely to find evaporation lines inside a test if you break it open. I've never used a digital and all tests I've ever used say don't dismantle. And for good reason!

Raxacoricofallapatorius Wed 05-Mar-14 19:50:33

Do a test, don't break it apart, read it in the time limit. That's my best advice.

HarderToKidnap Wed 05-Mar-14 19:50:45

I had it on all the tests I did, which was 3 FR. All popped open!

ladythatlunches Wed 05-Mar-14 19:55:07

well then. . that explains. im gonna pee on one now and not pop unless line comes up then ill pop to take pictures.

and oh my god for some reason those pics have gone on my Facebook. oh dear god just gets better

HarderToKidnap Wed 05-Mar-14 19:59:09

Report back!! Good luck

ladythatlunches Wed 05-Mar-14 20:09:39

im going to leave it till morning actually. im full pf juice so at least ill know tom with out wondering if it was watered down.

I only have 1more test left and then im done with them.

stupid things

Mintymoomoo Wed 05-Mar-14 20:32:40

When I was pg with 2nd I done 1st response and nearly threw away saying I wasn't pg to friend as live was so faint! I was!

Also know someone who's husbands vasectomy failed 3 times!

I though you could get a false negative but not a false positive!

If you had only done one test then I would say retest in few days, but surly doing that many that have shown as positive must mean its positive ?

ladythatlunches Wed 05-Mar-14 20:38:49

we are thinking evaps because I opened them up :0/

Evaps are typically grey, the dye is activated by HCG and your lines are pink!

Armadale Thu 06-Mar-14 09:33:20

How are things today, lady?

ladythatlunches Thu 06-Mar-14 10:00:15

I did another left in case like a good girl. couldn't see anything.. well I thought I did so opened and a very veryffaint blue line.

Either way it isn't looking great

if positive- lines getting lighter anyway so maybe won't have to think about it too much.

im due on tom.. me and my sister have the exact same cycle every month for as long as I can remember I come on a day before her. she has come on today!

that doesn't mean much though as she could just be early!

dh is a work back at lunch time to supply sample then drop off.

I have called doctor waiting for her to call me back later. hopefully blood test or something will help as I really need to know if I was and having a chemical .. becauseIif dh sample comes back clear we will be non of the wiser!

ladythatlunches Thu 06-Mar-14 10:02:05

also last pregnancy and the only one I had hcg levels done my hormones didn't double ..hardly anything actually. was told a mc.

turned out to be twins. so another thought that my levels may not double or maybe it was just that pregnancy! who knows

Armadale Thu 06-Mar-14 11:02:42

Lady, please, please stop opening them, it is not helping you.

Buy a cheap one (poundland ones are fine) do it and DO NOT OPEN. EVER. If you can see a faint line in the packaging= a faint positive. If you can not see a faint line whilst still in the packaging, throw it away.

Or I'm sure your GP would give you one if you get to go in for a blood test this afternoon (although I think the NHS ones are more likely to give a false negative as they need a higher concentration of HCG to give a positive, so I'd still be tempted to avoid this route and buy a cheap one instead).

ladythatlunches Thu 06-Mar-14 11:04:50

all the cheap ones don't have covers?

I thought I saw it but because of the plastic I wasn't sure if it was a shadow so just opened it looked saw it then binned it.

Armadale Thu 06-Mar-14 11:17:13

The cheap ones I buy do have covers (normally 2 for 99p at the shop) and have also used the strip tests without covers from ebay-

I think there is a difference between ones that do not have covers and are therefore designed to be read without, and those that do have covers and are designed not to be opened....

I do understand that total head massacre that is an uncertain test, but I think opening them is just adding another layer of confusion you don't need, really.

ladythatlunches Thu 06-Mar-14 12:26:54

no your right.

ahhhh my friend bought me round one she had in her house weed on it. a definite blue like but cery skinny popped right up! all the ones I do either have these weird skinny lines or the other weird line's.

so I don't know. its not as fat as the control line abd the leaflet sais has to be same width. . so why do I keep getting skinny lines?

I have ordered the cheap ones off eBay a load for 2:99 so ill just pee on them all ha ha

Do a digital one that will say 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant'.
