Maternity jeans hell!

Hello.

I have very skinny legs, am a size 8-10. My own skinny jeans are now too tight to wear but just had the most depressing time trying to find maternity ones.

Does anyone have any tips on good shops to try??

Everything I have tried just hung off my bum and legs!

Thanks!

I'm the same build as you. Skinny jeans look like 'normal' jeans on me! I found topshop ones to be the best fit for me. 'Topshop Moto maternity 'Leigh' '. They're £38 but I've definitely got my wear out of them!

Another vote for topshop here!

Topshop Maternity ones are good. I have a cheap pair from Debenhams and a pair from Vertbaudet. You could also try Gap maternity.

Uniqlo has a great selection of skinny combats, jeans and jeggings, all with good stretch and available in loads of different colours. Good quality and not expensive. They sit comfortably under bump and I'm still wearing at 29 weeks and hope to continue.

I bought maternity skinny jeans from asos which have been great and boot cut ones from gap maternity there's 30% gap today as we'll smile

Another vote for going down a size - I ordered some Next size 10 maternity skinnies in the sale for 14 and they fit PERFECTLY. Phew. I wear a 12 in their normal stuff. I also bought some size 12 maternity dresses and they're a bit big, so I think they just size everything up in maternity, which is daft, because my arse hasn't grown that much.

Asos, a friend has just given me a pair and there fab, I'm the same as you size 8 and very slim legs! I struggle with normal jeans!

The ones she gave me from asos are under bump and so soft and stretchy, they are a size 6 and I fit perfectly around bum and legs!

I think it's def work going down a size in maternity as the seem to be cut large x

What i dont get is why do they have to be so expensive -.- i dont want to buy from h&m and places like that as im a 10-12 and have found that you buy one size from one shop n same from another and they are completley different! Id rarther go to a shop where you can find proper fittin clothes. I really need to get some as this weathers too cold for leggings sad n tights are uncomfortable xx

Asos have saved the day!

My legs are skinny compared to the rest of me, though I'm bigger than you at 12-14 pre-pregnancy. Skinny jeans are a nightmare at the best of times because what fits my waist look huge on my legs and what's perfect on my legs is too tight round my fat tummy. Finding maternity decent skinny maternity jeans has been a nightmare. The best I've found are New Look skinnies which are at least properly skinny. I've bought a pair and wear them a lot but don't love them - they look a bit cheap and, well, like they come from New Look. I've also got a pair of Mamas and Papas skinny jeans - they look boyfriend cut and are hideous if comfy. And a pair if JoJo skinnies which are ok but aren't skinny - they are just straight-legged. Good luck!

Another vote for seraphine!

H&M definitely !!! smile

Mummyinpink1289 Tue 04-Mar-14 13:41:55

i vote ASOS - although i agree with hubba go down a size maybe - i ordered 2 pairs of size 10 and they are huge around my bum waist and just keep leaving me with a baggy bum. i did try ordering a size 8 in a different style but they were so tight i couldnt even get them on!
so they have a 50% off sale on until thursday and the jeans on there are now 15 meaning i could order both size 8 and 10 and send back the one that dont fit!

Good luck!

I'd second going down a size. Bought some Mamalicious jeggings from ASOS but they're huge on thighs and bum, wish I'd gone smaller!

amy246 Tue 04-Mar-14 07:18:14

I have very skinny legs but a slightly curvier bum: the primary maternity skinny jeans seem to be great for me with lots of bump room smile

Plateofcrumbs Tue 04-Mar-14 06:27:12

I normally find skinny jeans very difficult to buy (what fits my hips are too tight round my legs). But all the maternity ones I have fit pretty well (although none of them stay up, I have to keep hoicking them up by the belt loops). So I can understand that if you have skinny legs it might be difficult. I think asos own brand a the tightest I've tried, so might be worth a look. H&M fit me well so might not be skinny enough for the OP.

Cariad007 Tue 04-Mar-14 02:34:39

I bought some legging jeans from Gap and a pair of black straight leg jeans from Asos (Mamalicious I think). Both over bump and comfortable.

OwlinaTree Mon 03-Mar-14 23:30:31

New look do skinny under bump. Mothercare do skinny over bump I think, but they are dearer.

firstbaby01 Mon 03-Mar-14 22:05:49

I just got two pairs of really comfy jeans in the sale in new look for about £10 each. I'm was a size 10 and had to go down a size to an 8 tho

mrsmellow Mon 03-Mar-14 22:02:01

Seraphine here too!

cosmicnibble Mon 03-Mar-14 22:00:24

Have you tried going down a size? I'm usually an 8-10 but find 6-8 better in maternity wear as it's cut quite generously a lot of the time I've found..

mummytobejuly2014 Mon 03-Mar-14 21:04:33

topshop leigh jeans wont stay up on me. they have a sort of baggy crotch for supposedly skinny jeans. im 22wks & am a size 8-10 usually. had no success in new look either.

BikeRunSki Mon 03-Mar-14 17:27:44

Seraphine maternity jeans are so worth the expense!

kiwiscantfly Mon 03-Mar-14 15:59:56

Try Top Shop, I lived in their maternity Leigh jeans, v.skinny!

PenguinsEatSpinach Mon 03-Mar-14 15:59:26

New Look might be worth a try? I have to say, skinny maternity jeans tend not to be nearly as snug as normal ones. I think it's a combination of where they have to sit on your hips and leaving a little room since most women do tend to put on some weight across the hips and arse during pregnancy (sadly I put on both my allocation and someone else's grin)/
