Ok so I'm 40+9! I am having lower back pain and have been for the last 30 or so hours, managed to sleep last night but woke up every hour or so with pain. Tonight it's coming at the front aswell! It's painful but not yet what I would say regular. I've been trickling water since last night (this could potentially be pee I am not sure) lol I totally don't trust my judgement at the moment oh and my lady bits feel like someone has kicked her with steel toe boots on??? Any advice greatly appreciated dont want to phone and feel silly if it's nothing x

Worth a phone call, best to check if it is your waters I'd say. Hope all goes well

Put a pad on and see if it smells like wee. If still unsure you need to be checked as you should be induced after your waters have gone, normally after 24 hours.

The pains at the minute don't sound like you're in established labour as they'd be more frequent and regular. But it sounds like things are hitting up which is good.

It smells quite sweet, dh could smell it in the car? Guess I'm holding off incase they make me go in and I end up there for days in half labour! X

Sounds like your waters. You need to be seen as the risk of infection raises once they've gone.

If it's your waters they'll need to induce you within 24 hours to prevent infection, I'd go in if I was you!

Sweet smell tends to be waters! I think you should go be
Checked
Out! As pp said if it is u will need
Inducing if labour doesn't establish and potentially anti biotics as u are
At a higher risk of infection if it is waters!!

Good luck

My notes say to contact labour ward if you think your waters have broken.

So, if you think it's been as long as 24 hours you should def call right away and expect to go in.

Good luck!

In all honesty I wouldn't accept that
From her !!! Especially if u think waters have broken! U need
To be examined
Even of ots to confirm they haven't broke and await events!! I would ring back

I'd hang on til the morning if I was you and phone back then if you still think you're leaking waters. There's no huge rush to induce you. I waited for 3 days after mine started to break with DC3.

V excited for you Belle!

Belle2808 · 16/02/2014 23:25

Yeah I'm going to time the pains over the next hour and try again if I get her think I will just go in x

I'm sorry pp but there is a rush to
Be iduced if waters have gone... Infection levels are higher and riskier and antibiotics are needed!

Conflicting
Information I guess! Hope your baby comes soon for u op

OP inyour shoes I would just try and rest as best you can - at 40 + 9 you are going to have a baby soon.
The policy around induction after waters breaking varies significantly between hospitals and without medical intervention eg physical examination risk is even lower. I waited about 60 hours - but this is unusual the vast majority of people will have given birth by then.

If you are worried then read up and insist on going in in the morning but for now being at home is probably more likely to kick start things.
Good luck - it will be amazing however it happens.
