Does anyone know the reflexology points that are supposed to encourage labour??

Heard a few people mention that there are certain points on the feet and hands that if you press correctly, may encourage labour to start. Does anyone know of this and if so, would you share with us women who are getting very uncomfortable and near their due date (39 weeks)? PLEASE

I dont know the exact points but had reflexology twice this week and so far nothing either.

not heard of one that will encourage labour (surely women everywhere would press it??!!) but did hear of one to press in labour IYSWIM. can't recall where it is for the mo

Hi - I qualified as a reflexologist (but around 10 years ago and non practicing so a bit rusty!) Its the area around your ankle but I wouldn't like to recommend diy prodding!
I've been told of a fantastic acupuncturist in the southall area but I am afraid I don't know his name. I was a week late and was just about to start looking into it all when my waters broke! Maybe another mnetter will know of someone to recommend...post your location and you might get some ideas. GOOD LUCK!

I've been told that acupuncture works better for bringing on labour. Have never tried it myself but a neighbour did and wnet into labour that night.

Your ovaries are reflected just under the inside ankle bone on each foot. I had reflexology regularly through my first pregnancy and these points were much more tender as soon as I fell pregnant and we didn't touch them again until I was 2 weeks to go. You will probably notice they are tender when you touch but you won't do any harm just massaging your ankles and you never know..... it may start labour but it is more often used to stimulate conception.
