Does anyone have any tips to help me cope with this? It only goes away when I am eating. I permanently feel like I have ribbon of phlegm at the back of my throat. It is worse in the evenings.

I am 13 weeks.

Urrgh I had this for the whole of the 2nd trimester, I ended up sleeping with a toilet roll by my bed, using Avon facial oil on my nose to keep it from being dry and keep your fluids up as you can get a very dry throat it went completely in the 3rd trim for me, so have hope it may not last much longer for you

I do have a dry throat. Initially, I thought I had a cold but the longer it's gone on the more I have discounted that.

I've just tried DD's Calpol saline nasal spray. I'm going to a pharmacy tomorrow!

It's infuriating isn't it? Had this for ages now and not going at 31wks. Permanently stuffy nose and worse at night when I lie down, which makes an already shite sleep even harder. More pillows has helped slightly.

I thought this was just me with a rotten cold causing it! Have been waking up gagging with it and throwing up in the morning with it to clear the phlegm

I've got this, also thought it was just a cold. I've only just got my BFP so I'm about 4 weeks. It sort of sits between my nose and throat and sometimes makes it difficult to breath. Its making me feel very sick indeed so I hope its not here to stay.

I'm 23 weeks and still have this, though it seems to be less in my throat and more in my nose? I have to mouth breathe all the time now, which makes everything dry and chapped and isn't good when I'm walking outdoors. What a nightmare! Wish I had a cure but I really just have sympathy....

22 weeks and still got it. I find the best for me is a saline nasal spray in mornings and evenings. Doesn't get rid of it but alleviates it a bit.

No luck with the pharmacist or my midwife Angry

I am using the saline spray every 20 minutes or so, paracetamol every 4 hours and chewing gum throughout the day.

Just 6 months to go....

When I wake up in the night to wee, my nose is all stuffy and back of throat feels horrid, and when I get up in the morning and blow my nose, it bleeds :-(

I have rhinitis anyway and can still use my nose spray, which is maybe some relief. Steam inhalation helps to clear mucus Have also just remembered that rubbing a thin layer of Vaseline inside your nostrils can help prevent bleeds (I think to stop scabs coming off and stopping things getting dry) so I'll try that tonight.

I had this throughout with DC3. Right at the end my SIL recommended a salt pipe from Holland & Barratt (or similar health shop) It really worked and I wish I'd known about it sooner.
