Oooh, new shiny thread!

Go Bakingtins for Friday. Woe to Scan Doom!

24 & 4 days or 25 weeks today, depending on whether you trust my hazy memory or the hospital's stupid accurate machines. I had a good scare today. Walking to pick DS up from nursery, I started having really quite painful crampy feelings around the bottom of the bump every few minutes. I actually had to stop walking a few times it got so painful. I managed to get to the school and home and was seriously considering calling the hospital. I'm glad I didn't, as it turned out to be, erm, trapped wind.

Pig glad it wasn't anything serious! Grin
Ember if you either copy and paste all the stats and add yourself in, or type them up and someone will add you in your spec on the list.
DD woke up for a wee early hours and being half asleep I went to get out of bed normally. Iv completely pulled all my pelvis again, took me 10 minutes to get out of bed and I can only take shuffling baby steps. Gonna be a long day!

Thanks for the new thread, here's to sone new thread babies!

bit of a random question. people keep saying to me that my bump is really small. now that isn't helping the pre scan doom, 20 week scan next Thursday. my question is: is it normal for the bump to stick out more at the end of the day than at the beginning?

good luck with scans this week and congrats for the good scan news.

Woohoo. New thread!
So 13+6 and I have no bathroom, so have to use scary cold downstairs loo, as it seems cowboys installed bathroom for previous owners.

Still feeling so tired! When does this supposed 2nd trimester energy level rise start happening?

Tins, good luck for the scan and welcome to all the new peeps. Grin

A new thread already!

I need your help ladies. 13+5 today, and over the last week my anxiety about whether everything is ok seems to have increased. We have told more people now, and in some ways that has made it worse. My 16 week appointment isn't until 4th feb and I'm not sure I can go that long without knowing it's ok, and I don't even know if the midwife will listen to the heartbeat. I can't really afford a private scan and I'm not sure what my DP would think about it. Nothing seems wrong - I've had a couple of drops of post-DTD spotting (literally 2 drops of pale drown stuff) but I didn't ring the midwife or EPU as I had no more than that and no pain etc. I don't think EPU will scan me if I'm just worried, and I would feel bad if I pretended in case I was taking a scan space away from someone who has greater need.
I know some people use dopplers but I've heard they're not always a good idea. I just don't know what to do :(

hello all, mind if I come back to lurk for my last few weeks? Not been on here for ages, am nearly 34 weeks now and would appreciate a hand or 2 to hold for the last few weeks?

PG yes completely normal - it'll be bloating by the end of the day.

Report
bakingtins · 15/01/2014 15:44

pg ignore anything anyone says to you about your bump. In the next breath someone will say you are massive. It's normal to have v little bump in the morning and a hug bloated belly by the evening too.

nerdy I think 2nd trimester anxiety can be difficult too. You had so much pinned on a good 12 week scan and then it seems like forever until the next one. The stats are very much on your side if all is good at 12 weeks, 99% good outcomes from that point on, so if there is nothing worrying you specifically I'd try to take no news as good news. My MW did listen in at 16 weeks and found a HB straight away, but not without issuing a load of caveats that if she didn't find it there was nothing to worry about, so I'm not sure a Doppler would be reassuring at this stage.

saggy I have tried all of the above and even had a phone call from a make colleague today to warn me that a member of our team has been screen shooting my Facebook updates and passing them around work!
So I've deleted everyone work related

Would the person who told you about it be willing to screen shot the screen shot for you?
If you aren't in a union, and you want to pursue this further, I can recommend the CAB. It was a long time ago, but they were great about my case. They did everything.

Hi ladies I found you! I haven't been posting but have been lurking and so lovely to see BFP's and continuing good scan news!

I'm 24 weeks now, I'm going for my scan on Monday to see if I can stop injecting Heparin but I think I've also picked up a bug or something - feeling very flaky and headachey which is boring! I've been having dizzy spells after breakfast which the MW reckons is low blood sugars rather than my low blood pressure, gawd knows but it's a horrid feelingConfused

Ladies continue with the good news and FOD your colleagues sound like arsesWink

fod that is just disgraceful from your work colleagues. How can adults behave so childishly? It is bordering on bullying/stalking. I hope you can get the maximum maternity pay from the company and then leave and go to a company of grown ups.

nerdy I got a Doppler at 14 weeks and personally found it very reassuring. But the first few goes it took about ten minutes to find the HB, and once I couldn't find it at all. So it all depends on how you would cope with that. Tip: baby is usually way further down in your pelvis than you think!

I sympathise with you pg. I must have had the following conversation at least twenty times since Christmas: "How far along are you?" "19/20/21 weeks" "ooh! you haven't got much of a bump!" Very disheartening when you feel totally pregnant. Angry
