DS name suggestions for the new baby

Just wanted to share some pearls of wisdom voiced by DS today. DS said that we should call the new baby "Oleg" like the baby meerkat on the Compare the Market adverts. He also warned us that "people babies are like meerkat babies, they are eating and pooping machines"!!

He has also suggested "Anton" as in Anton Du Beke from Strictly or "Gruffalo" or "Yoda"

My DH suggested it as a middle name. That's the power of advertising, although I think he was mostly joking!

I think we need to switch off the tv too! We don't even know if it's a boy or girl yet. DS suggested Katie Morag for a girl!

A friend's son wanted to call his new baby sister "Milkshake" because he likes milkshake and he likes her too!

My DD wanted DS to be called Jackie, if he was a girl. :)

DS wanted Ajay, after the train driver in Postman Pat. At least that's fairly sensible.

Lexie I like that your Dd was thinking outside the box!
Lily I think Postman Pat is the reason for the name 'Julian' being suggested too. Better than trying to call the baby Iggle Piggle I suppose!

firstbaby I bet my DS and DH would love both of those suggestions!

One child in my family suggested 'Eagle' for the new sibling. Though nowadays that's not even particularly outlandish. Another suggestion was 'Tonyblair'.

Can't stop laughing at the thought of my baby being called Gruffalo Jones...

AlwaysDancing1234 · 11/01/2014 22:09

I reckon there probably is already a kid out there called "Eagle"!!
vjones I think Gruffalo Jones has a certain ring to it but what would you have as a middle name? Grin

My nephew (7) was convinced my whole pregnancy that my ds was going to be called Elmo.

He was there when the hv came round for the first time after the birth and he took her to one side and said, "sillymilly is very confused, she keeps calling it Henry by mistake" it was hilarious, he has this Confused look on his face as if I was a moron!

VJONES Gruffalo Indiana is the best, I would love to see the registrars face when you fill out the form for the birth certificate!!

DS thinks we should call our new baby 'cheesebaby'. He falls about laughing every time he says this, but has failed to come up with any alternatives.

I had a quick look on the baby names threads and quite frankly the names listed here are no more ridiculous than some of the real serious suggestions people have made on the baby names threads!! Confused

DS strongly favoured "Pizza Poo" as a name for DS2. Expanded to "Pizza Poo Willy Bum Bum" if he was in company that he thought might be entertainingly shocked by such language.

Puntastic that made me giggle!! My DS has also suggested "poo machine" which is quite accurate I guess!
