Hi everyone, my sister, who is 21 weeks pg, found out last week that she is carrying a girl . she was told that she needs to go back in 2 weeks for a more detailed scan as they detected a problem with the babys heart. Has anyone ever heard of a story like this before where the sonographer was wrong?

Hello bubbles. Sorry I can't help at all. Just wanted to bump this for you, and say that I hope that everything turns out to be ok with your sisters baby. Positive vibes for her

My dd showed up a heart defect, she too got a detailed scan. DD has a very minor condition, what they know now is better as they can identify any problems her dd might have at birth
Most heart probs are treatable relatively easily I found out.
I hope it is either a dud scan or everything is easy to fix
xxxxxxx

Yes. My friend just had a baby who had an abnormal heartbeat in utero but is 100% fine at birth.

There are a lot of false alarms in pregnancy - you do well to go through pregnancy without at least one false alarm. Tell her the baby will be just fine, and if it weren't this hiccup it would be another

Yes I have, everything turned out to be fine on second inspection. Even if this is not the case for your sister, as terrifying as it may be it is better to know now, she will get the best care. Hope very much it turns out to be nothing.
