Pregnancy

AIBU to think that my baby is evil?

nevergoogle · 16/10/2013 08:55

This is the only explanation I have for such prolonged sickness.

All day, every day and still puking at 14 weeks.
My previous 2 pregnancies involved sickness but not to this extent and while both have 'evil' tendencies largely around the ages of 2-3, they are in the most part are fine now.

It's evil isn't it?

Can the mumsnet collective perform an online exorcism?

It would be much appreciated.

DS1 - ms to 18w.
DS2 - ms to 22w.

They are lovely now. They did a lifetime's peskiness in the first two years of existence Grin Wink

Have you tried ginger biscuits ?

Aww, don't blame the baby, blame your body for being crap at handling the extra hormones :) with baby number 5 i was sick until the day before i had him !!

nevergoogle · 16/10/2013 10:34

as the sickness seems to get worse with each pregnancy, I think we won't be getting to baby number 5!

Sickness until 18 weeks with DS - every day, several times. Came back for the last month of pregnancy too.

With this one I'm still being sick, although it's maybe once a week now. I'm 29 weeks. The sickness has only curtailed in the last 4 weeks. It is hell. I'm convinced I had Hyperemesis because I was so bad, but my GP doesn't "believe in it" so I got no help.

I was planning to have 3 kids but this is my last pregnancy, I can't do it again. My sickness is getting worse with each pregnancy.

I used to repeat "You'll be worth it" while barfing, so that the baby wouldn't feel too bad (I was delierious with morning sickness I think).

I hope you feel better soon!

On this basis, no. 3 is fairly evil here too. Though I have different symptoms. No. 3 was a surprise. Definitely no no. 4!

Are you sure ginger biscuits wouldn't help?

stabstabstab feck off with your fecking gingernuts.

It's not always worse with twins, I was sick a total of 4 times and I think it was more to do with me stuffing my face too much Blush I've spoken with other twin mums to be and twin mums who didn't have much sickness either.

Sorry you are suffering Sad

I was sick EVERYDAY (usually more than once) from before I knew I was pregnant until the day I gave birth at 41 weeks. Not seen any signs of evil since then, but I sleep with one eye open Grin

Durgs. Lovely, lovely drugs. Specifically Stemetil.

Puked my guts up until about 26w. Stemetil was the only thing that touched it.

Eat little and often if you can, and try B6 too as that can help.

Failing that, yes, call the local Catholic Church.

I've previously been warned never to watch 'Children of the corn' given the blue eyed blonde hair image of DS2. I've been told I would never sleep again.

This baby better be cute. Just saying.

DH appeared in the bathroom this morning to offer moral support. "It's a good sign of a strong healthy pregnancy" he says, rubbing my back.

You can imagine my short and sweet reply.

Mine is evil too. MS until 24 weeks, SPD from 18 weeks and kicking the crap out of me from about 22 weeks. Even now at 38+4 it is kicking me hard enough to almost make me cry and is back to back and engaging so giving me horrendous backache

Send your priests round here when they've finished with yours!

Think you need to go and see your gp and get some lovely drugs whilst your there get something for constipation because the lovely sickness drugs will give you it.

Forget your gp, they will likely fob you off with a prescription for ginger biscuits.
Ring the antenatal clinic at the local hospital and ask to see an obstetrician at the next available clinic, they will be be able to supply you with some suitable medication to give you relief.
There are at least 3 types of anti-sickness drugs they can try, sometimes a 4th. So if one doesn't work you go back to them and try another one. If you can't get in at the antenatal clinic, self refer to maternity day unit and don't leave until you've seen a doc. If you have heartburn, ask for something for that as well as it often exacerbates the vomiting.
Hopefully all will be well soon Smile

The ginger biscuits feed the evilness.

I don't think the GP will consider it bad enough tbh. I realise many more have it much worse. I am carrying on with my work, able to keep water down (mostly), and can nibble on dry boring snacks.

I haven't eaten a proper meal for 3 months. And it's not just food that makes me retch. Laughing does it too. And then there was a bogey clip on 'you've been framed' that made me retch loudly.

Just meh.

I had HG with my last pregnancy and was hospitalised 6 times. I thought my baby was trying to destroy me!

However, he's now 3 weeks old and making up for it with loveliness.

Shit pregnancy, good labour.

It doesn't matter if others have it much worse, and your managing to carry on with life, if your not eating properly, you should get seen in the hospital antenatal clinic, you could be lacking essential nutrients if your not eating properly.
you won't be bothering anyone or wasting anyone's time, but it could get you out of the hell that your in.
...because your worth it...Wink
