How do you get out of the bath?

I'm 26 weeks and bump is just starting to get in the way sometimes. Had a bath tonight and didn't get stuck or anything but wondering if anyone has any 'techniques' for getting out of the bath as I can imagine getting it getting a bit tricky as I get bigger!

Turn over onto your knees, then use sides of bath to get up to your feet.
If you don't use it already, get a non slip bath mat. You'll need it eventually for Dc when they are big enough to sit up in the bath on their own anyway.

with difficulty!!!!!Wink

you just have to try turn onto your side and then push yourself up from all fours, it takes time to figure out but the you get used to it.

I rarely have baths because prefer showers. I got trapped in the bath at about 36 weeks! I had no ab strength left and bump was in the way and I panicked and floundered about and called for DH to haul me out all pink and embarrassed! The knee method sounds like a plan but at 41+3 am a bit scared to try it.

When I got towards the end of my last preg I would only bath when dp was in the house so he could haul me out after!! Was really scared of slipping, haven't quite reached that point, yet!!Smile

Dont let the water out first, leave the plug in to help give you a bit of bounancy. And then either the knees method or DH helping are the easiest although we have handles on our tub which help.

Also dont stand up too fast, the heat & steam can make you feel a bit faint.

Use your arm strength as much as poss to get you up and over! And onto your knees... then onto heels and up... that's how I manage it at 39 weeks!

I use the turn over on to all fours and back out from there method.

However, I struggled big time when I had a bath at my mums house. They have a deep roll top stand alone bath.
I managed to stand up in it, but couldn't work out how to step out of it safely and had to call my mum to help me!
Thank god there was no-one else in the house!
