Sorry if seems a bit blunt just need to get to the point.

I have a water infection and I am in absolute agony the pain is becoming unbearable just flared up within the last few hours but I'm thinking I've had it a while just haven't really taken notice. I'm 13 weeks first time mum and worried its a kidney infection I've had one before so understand what it feels like however doesn't quite feel the same and I have had many water infections but this is by far the worst one I've ever had. So contacted my midwife and she said to go to the out of hour doctors but can't get through so basically long story short should I go hospital or not???? What would you do??? Thanks in advance ladies xxxxxx

Ring the OOH GP again.

You need to see a doctor, but A and E is not really the right place.

Take some paracetamol/drink lots of water while you are waiting

OOH GP services are pretty horrendous at the moment. Keep trying, but if you can't get through, then A and E may be your only option. Be prepared for a wait - Friday nights tend to be busy...

Agreed you need a dr asap. Is the pain localized on one side?

I've got terrible morning sickness as well I can't keep anything down honestly in a lot of pain struggling to do anything apart from sit on the toilet rocking myself because I constantly feel like I'm going to pee just nothing is coming out. I've had back pain past few days but I just thought it was our crappy mattress. Thanks for comments partner is trying to get through to OOH now

I really feel for you. For the whole of the first trimester of my first pregnancy i suffered with uti's. I spent most of the time curled up in a ball in pain. Make sure u drink lots of water...it will dilute ur urine and get through to the docs. There are a few options for antibiotics they can give you.

I'd just go straight to A&E. If it is a very severe infection, considering how much pain you're in, they may want to admit you and give you IV antibiotics as opposed to oral x

My suggestion is to keep drinking water, 2 paracetamol and a warm bath for 30 mins as a minimum whilst you wait for paracetamol to work. That's the only thing that helps get me through (I too am prone to them in pregnancy). Oh and also hot water bottle can be helpful after bath. The paracetamol does usually help me to forget about it but you will need antibiotics x

Run a warm bath sit in it and wee to your hearts content, doesn't sting half as much and warm will help the pain, this is exactly what I spent last Friday night doing! Hope you get some antibiotics and feed better soon

Being sent to hospital now by ooh because of how much pain I am in and I can't keep fluids or tablets down so going to need a drip I think. Can't wait for this to hopefully all be over :( I usually get a warm bath and it helps sometimes but not a single bit this time unfortunately. Thanks for all comments and advice x

I had similar - thought my morning sickness had flared up but then got the kidney pain. One I got the antibiotics inside me I was ok but it sounds like you might need help to get on top of the nausea and rehydrate. Hope you feel better soon.

I had a horrendous water infection when pregnant. Rung the midwife explaining my temp/vomiting/general agony and she told me to man up it was heartburn n most pregnant women get it Blush DH took me to a&e in the end after finding me passed out in the bathroom. I was very apologetic for wasting their time Grin but they were lovely and said that was what they were there for ! If OOH isn't quick enough take yourself to hospital
