Go back to the EPU or your GP tomorrow. Unfortunately there's no way of knowing without another scan - and because it's so early, the scan can't tell you if everything will be alright, only whether it's still ok at that moment.

Clots and pain together are not a good sign. However they don't necessarily mean the worst. I've had five pregnancies, all with bleeding and pain at 6w. 3 ended in miscarriages but they were the lightest bleeds. The one with golf-ball sized clots, bleeding that soaked through jeans and went on for 10 weeks ended in my DD, who's now 4.

Hope all works out well for you.

You really need to very yourself seen before you can be sure. Have you rung your doctor yet?

valiumredhead Wed 21-Aug-13 11:32:31

No one can diagnose over the internet as ever pregnancy is different.

i have rang the doc and he said just to wait till my oppiment next friday the only loop hole i can find is mady it was twin and i may if only miscarryed 1 which is possiple as my partener has twins in his family cant think of any other explanition other than miscarrige sad

Go to your local hospital and ask for the early pregnancy unit. You don't need to make an appointment.

Demand to be seen don't b pushed away that's what they r there for x

layler123 Wed 21-Aug-13 23:06:32

they clamied they were fully booked

Holly94 Thu 22-Aug-13 07:01:57

Tell them you're 6 weeks pregnant and need an emergency appointment. Failing that go to A&E where they should refer you to the EPU.

LandsN Thu 22-Aug-13 09:18:12

I agree go to a & e good luck x

i saw the mid-wife yesterday and she tryed to ring up and get me appoiment move forward but they said it need to be on the 30th so they can see whats happen in the last 2 weeks etc soo just ganna have to wait another week still bleeding and passin a copuple of clots but still get pregnacy sympthoms morning sickness , bein sick, back ache and tender boobs is this a good sign that i am still getting these symothons or would i still get them if i had misscarryed?? xxxx

LandsN Fri 23-Aug-13 09:27:37

its hard to say cos everyone is different is the blood red or brown? I bled for 7 weeks at the beginning of this pregnancy but it was mostly brown blood (old blood) and am now 31 weeks fingers crossed for you x

valiumredhead Fri 23-Aug-13 09:28:45

You would still get symptoms I think as you'll have hormones.

Keeping everything crossed for you x

fluffyraggies Fri 23-Aug-13 09:29:27

Pregnancy hormones can stick around for a long time layler, (basically the hormones are what causes most of the symptoms) even if baby has gone, so there's no way to tell at the moment.

I'm sorry you are having to go through this. There is hope though, i bled very suddenly and badly and lost clots when i was 15 weeks preg. I had a scan at the hospital the next day, and baby was fine.

I'm going to be honest with you - I don't think A&E will much help to you. You will sit around for ages, and then be told that the scan unit is fully booked, and that they wont be able to stop you loosing your baby if that is what is happening. It's what they said to me at 15 weeks.

It's good that your cervix is closed. How is the pain? x

layler123 Fri 23-Aug-13 09:41:21

im not in any pain no more only had pain once and the pain was on anf off and wast to bad but since then have not had any pain really do hope everythings okay xxx

valiumredhead Fri 23-Aug-13 09:47:10

A and e said the same to me and just to wait it out. I bleed thought my pregnancy and ds is 12 now.

Waiting is just horriblesad

layler123 Fri 23-Aug-13 10:14:01

yer it really is put just trying to stay positive untill i know for sure xx

Armadale Fri 23-Aug-13 10:20:38

It seems incredibly cruel to make you wait 2 weeks.

I have been in this situation and it is too long, ime.

I don't know where you are but can you google to find an Early Pregnancy Unit (EPU) at a hospital near you that lets you self refer- (some do, some don't.)
I would find one, go in person, explain what has happened and asked to be scanned. They are a lot more likely to be able to scan you there than A&E.
I would go today, as early as possible, as it is much more likely to get a scan today than over the weekend.

valiumredhead Fri 23-Aug-13 10:25:47

I've always had to wait for scans even if I went to the epu . Be prepared for them not to scan you .

layler123 Fri 23-Aug-13 10:31:10

when my mid-wife rang the epu yesterday to try get my appomimnet moved forward they said could as they need to wait 2 weeks to see what was happing soo i dont think going in is going to help tbh xx

Armadale Fri 23-Aug-13 11:14:17

Layler, I have found that turning up in person does tend to produce results.

When you are actually standing there in front of them they do seem to find the compassion to help you.

On three different occasions (different PG's) I have been told to wait it out at home and decided to go to the EPU myself.

When I got there in person and said 'look I'm massively distressed psychologically, I can not possibly wait another week without it doing further harm to me' an appointment has been provided.

On two of these three times they actually admitted me as I needed medical treatment and if I'd waited it out at home I would have been very poorly indeed so I have learnt not to listen to the advice which seems very geared towards conserving meagre resources even when that is not always in the best interest of the patient.

Do you really think if it was your midwife who was in early pg passing clots she would wait it out for 2 weeks or demand to be scanned to find out what exactly had been passed?

I feel very angry on your behalf as they are fobbing you off.

layler123 Fri 23-Aug-13 13:13:59

tbh dont think going up thier will really help il just wait till next friday and try and stay positive untill then xx

Armadale Fri 23-Aug-13 16:04:10

Hope the week passes quickly, I'm thinking of you flowers

layler123 Fri 23-Aug-13 17:08:18

thanks xx

valiumredhead Fri 23-Aug-13 17:22:28
