I have my heart set on the uppababy vista. Please can one of you lovely people let me know if it will fit in the boot of an Audi a3?

Fits in our polo and fiesta...I'd have thought an a3 would be bigger? Can you not go to a shop and try it?

They'll take it to your car to try out if you go to John Lewis...

It (just about) fits in our 06 civic (saloon) boot . Which is the crappest boot we have ever had the misfortune to own. I've googled the A3 and that seems far more sensible a boot size. Also, kiddicare will let you try one out in your boot if you have one near you.

My sister has an A3 and an uppababy vista so I presume it fits.

I have the uppababy and an Audi a3 and it fits beautifully - frame lies flat and carrycot and or pushchair attachments sit in on top. Very easy to get in and out.

Stormbird - thank you! I think we're getting an Uppababy vista and we have a 307 too. Was just coming to ask the question. Phew.

Can I also ask - it seems like the perfect pram to me,so why do so few people talk about it? Is it just because its not available in mothercare and isn't the trendy brand?!

I don't know about car boots but picking up on your post anything I absolutely love my vista. No idea why it doesnt seem to be as popular, I find it a stylish, practical, value for money option. I've been using mine for 7 months with no problems at all. Viva Vista!

Absolutely adore our uppababy. Fantastic pram IMO and I spent months researching and drove the length of Ireland looking for the perfect pram for us. We have had it in a 308 flat, and in a Clio, fabia and a seat Ibiza with one wheel popped off.

I read somewhere that it had only been available in the uk for couple of years so I assume that's why it's not as common as other prams.

I have one, my 2yo and I still love it.
I recommend getting the own brand footmuff - "ganoosh", great size, very cosy and bigger than many others.

I set my heart on the uppababy - I liked that it's parent facing and baby sits up quite high and it seemed sturdy enough for both country walks and easy to handle for city.

I was worried though that it wouldn't fit into my car - a mini and I wasn't prepared to change my car! Kiddicare helped me check whether it would fit and as long as I take the wheels off, amazingly to the surprise of kiddicare assistant it did easily. I purchased a discontinued colour and got fantastic deal - much cheaper than bugaboo and iCandy etc. just need LO to come in October to start using it.

We have one its great, wheels pop off and it folds easily so likely to fit in most cars, I had bmw one series which it was fine in. Great value for money pushchair and much admired esp by people who bought bugaboo and wish they hadn't!

I am going to get an Uppababy Vista. Seems like the perfect pram! I have a fiat 500 and really hoping it will fit.

It has only been available for a few years in the UK. I purchased mine over the internet after seeing one in a baby shop up north at the beginning of 2011. I had it shipped over from America which turned out to bit a bit of a polava but well worth it. My DS slept in the Bassinet part of it rather than a moses basket for the first 3 months and he's now 2 (and a tall 2 year old at that) but he still finds the pushchair very comfortable with plenty of room. We're expecting our DD in November and aren't buying a new pushchair just adding to the Uppababy with the Piggy back ride on board and the Double buggy attachment - it's so versatile and easy to use. It seems to be getting much more popular where I live now, I see them everywhere. We've definitely had our moneys worth out of it. I highly recommend it.

I bought mine in November 11 for my Jan 12 daughter. She also slept on the Carrycot overnight for the first 4 months so no need for a moses basket.

Best thing I bought for my daughter...

They are a lot more popular nowadays, I see a few round where I live. When I bought it John Lewis didn't stock it. They do now, so maybe that is why it's becoming more popular

I really wanted an Uppababy Vista and think they are becoming more popular as more people see how good they are. However we then found out we are having twins at our 12 week scan (yes I was looking very early on) so ended up with the Moutain Buggy Duet. I still look at this pram/pushchair in awe though and have recommended it to a friend.

Our Vista arrived last week - looking forward to using it when baby arrives!
I think the fact that it's not been available in the UK for long is the reason it's not more talked about but I definitely think it's growing in popularity.

I love my Uppababy Vista and it's lasted longer than most of my dd's contemporaries have - she is 14 months now. I'm 5'10" and the extending handle has saved my back.
It fits in my Mazda 3 boot easily.
It is an American brand and we were in New York recently where every other buggy in Central Park was one of them. Saw many using the car seat and the rumble seat to carry twins or two kids, obviously not for hours and hours. Only recently being sold in the UK.
I also noticed a photo because I am a shallow loser of Sarah Jessica Parker with her twins in one, using the toddler seat and rumble seat......

Are you all of the opinion that popping off a wheel is no problem? It was my pram/sstroller system of choice but I just found out that that the chassis did not fit in the boot without taking a wheel off and it made me think that it was not such a great option. I haven't really seen anything else I have liked, though, so am struggling with my decision a bit.
Am also wondering if it is just too wide at 63.5cm full stop?

TinyTear · 14/08/2013 13:41

It's easy to pop off a wheel, i did it the other day to give it a clean.

I don't have a car, but never had problems in buses and trains... i get around all over London with it

H369 - I don't see the wheels as a problem. They pop on and off so easily it would take only a few more seconds than it being folded away complete. And when you need it the chasis pops up quickly and with ease and the wheels just pop back on - i think they call it push-fit.

I went to back to a different shop and they managed to fit it in without taking a wheel off. I now am slightly confused by how the other shop couldn't make it fit???

I am still a little anxious about the cost. RRP being 629.99 with the cheapest I have seen it online is 599.99.
I am just still left wondering if I am paying money for something that I will end up replacing with something smaller down the line. Or if a less expensive system would suffice?

H369 yes it is a lot of money but if you will use it a lot it really is worth it. Our buggy is used almost every single day as we he dogs which need a lot of walking, my 22 month old still loves going in it. When i compared with my friend who was pushing her son in a McLaren stroller just a couple of days ago the weight was the same but it wasnt as easy to manage.

We're about to get the rumble seat as baby no 2 will be arriving in January. My friends who are also having/had second babies are all having to buy new buggies now as they didnt think ahead when getting their first buggy.
