When did dp first feel baby move?

When did your dp/dh first feel the babies movements? I am 23 weeks tomorrow and it still can't be felt from outside. I have an anterior placenta and the sonographer told me because of that it might take longer for others to feel it...just wondering if I can get an idea of how long?

I was 21+5. But then I was carrying all at the front, so maybe that had something to do with it?

I was about 17/18 weeks but it was very faint. I'm now 22+3 and it's quite obvious from the outside :)

Thanks folks! Seems to vary quite a bit then. Ilikebaking...is your placenta at the front do you know?

Lol...must have posted at the same time. Obviously it does make a significant difference then.

I don't think he ever did. I was carrying twins with an anterior placenta, but to be honest they were most active when I was asleep/near sleep, so DH was asleep too. Most movements were over as soon as they started, so there was a fair bit of 'quick put your hand here' followed by no movements whatsoever! DH tired of that pretty quickly!

I wouldn't stress about it too much. Your DH will be able to see the baby on scans (perhaps a 4D one if finances permit?) and will be able to hold him/her very soon :)

Hey HappyAsASandboy! This seems to be true that baby is more active at night here too. Also sometimes when i put my hand there it tends to stop kicking.

Not so much stressing as being impatient! Considering an extra private scan but not 100% sure the money is justified when there's so much more expence to budget for as well.

DH didn't feel my baby for ages... (anterior placenta here too) however, if I was lying down with my phone on my belly, you could 'see' the baby moving because it would wiggle and make the phone catch the light differently.

We are now in a strange situation where I still don't 'feel' bubs moving unless it's a huge movement. However, I can fall asleep and DH has arm/ hand round belly and feel loads of movement that I can't feel. (this is often the case when i'm on my own, I can feel things from outside but not inside) curse this anterior placenta!

Whoa, just tried the phone thing - that's so cool! I can't feel half those moves. DH has only felt movements twice - first time last week, at 29 weeks. Though he has no patience for it.

The phone thing is great! Just tried it and DP was amazed!

Sorry to jump into the thread, but was wondering what the phone thing is?! I keep making DH put his hands on my tummy when I feel the baby moving, but he claims he still can't feel him/her!

I also have an anterior placenta and DH only felt the baby move a few days ago when I was 25/26 weeks. It was the same with my last pregnancy (also anterior placenta)

I've been feeling movement from 14 wks and DP was getting v frustrated! In wk 19 movements suddenly got loads stronger and now he can feel them very clearly from the outside. We could see the movements from 18 wks.

Yesterday, on DP's birthday. I'm 17 weeks and DP is very pleased. Wouldn't let go for a while. It was a special moment indeed.

Anterior placenta here too. 24+6 today and DP still hasn't felt the baby move. Don't think it helps that his hands are quite warm and he/she seems to move away every time he puts his hands on my belly.

Will definitely be trying out the phone thing!

Oh well looks like there could still be a couple of weeks before he can expect to feel anything. Will give the phone experiment a go as well though!

"Babe, turn over the twins are kicking me." - Last night (22+1).

I've felt them move for weeks but DH is usually at work when they're most active. Last night I was laid half on him on my side, and they were more active than normal kicking up at storm at 1am. DH was cranky but in the morning was overly excited about it :)

ginestas hope I am on right page here. But phone thing what I was told was put your phone on your belly when baby's kicking. Although DP couldn't feel baby you could see the phone moving, it's sort of a little stepping stone until he can feel.
I'm 36+1 now and although bump moves round like something from alien as soon as DP touches all movement ceases. He has probably felt on a handful of different occasion :/ one time was a good 20 minutes kicking session but all in all not very much
anterior here too x

I've a very small bump all out in front, and have felt movements from 13 weeks, at 16 weeks other people could feel them (baby kicks/moves in bursts of activity), but because DH has warm hands he still hasn't caught one, and we're now knocking on 19 weeks. Feel a bit sorry for him really...

As OP for this thread thought I would post an update. DP and DC1 both felt the baby kick on Thursday evening, two days after I started this thread. That was when I was 23w1day...but by my dates I am a few days less than that. I tried the phone experiment too but all I could see was my own breathing movements. Thanks for all the replies :-)

I've been waiting to write on this thread. DP felt the twins for the first time yesterday morning at 23 weeks Smile and has now started talking to them. i think its become a lot more 'real' now for him.

I on the other hand can't sleep or get comfy Sad
