39+1 and period type pains?!

Just that really! Started last night, feels like awful period pain type cramp. Seems to come in waves and then go again.

2 questions - firstly, what can I do to help ease it? Secondly, is it time to get excited?!!!! Smile

Time to get excited I reckon. That's what my contractions felt like - although I did have pains for a few days before my waters broke. Take some paracetamol, have a bath and keep moving if you want to go into labour.

Wooohooooo.

Sounds like the start of labour! Take some paracetamol and a bath, will help ease the pain in early labour.

Good luck! Time to get excited!

Sounds promising, I'm having a bit of the same at the minute but I'm 36 weeks, nothing regular though so I may have just overdone it with the cleaning and decorating haha, keep active fingers crossed for you xx

Oooo, I had a dodgy tummy just before dd2 was born, and ad those period type pains as a precursor to labour kicking off properly.

Good Luck x

Sounds like labour to me too! Good luck!

Wow big orange! Fingers crossed for you. As to what to do, take paracetamol, make sure your ready to go to hospital. Keep a note of frequency, length and intensity of pains.

If they get too sore try a bath or hot water bottle. Once they are coming regularly and are established phone the labour ward and ask when they think you should go in.

If your on your own consider how long it will take for your birthing partner/dp to get to you.

Good luck

I'm 39+3 and have been having cramps/lower back pain and a bit of a dodgy tummy for a few days...like you hoping its the start of something soon though it doesn't sound as imminent as yours! about to wash down the kitchen cupboards and clean out the fridge so lets see if that gets things going at all...

good luck with everything!

baby time soon I reckon!

I love that excitement of going into labour, then the utter and sheer exhaustion but indescribable happiness of holding a tiny weeny baby (mine were ranging between 8lb 3 and 9lb 14, so not that tiny..)

How I envy you! I really do!

I'm so broody!

(fuck being broody, I'm going for another one)

good luck BigOrange, enjoy mini satsuma Grin soon!

Ooooh how exciting ! Do keep us all posted Grin

I'm 37 weeks exactly and have been having a bit of period cramping on and off for about a week and a half (actually woke me up in a panic on Sunday night)

Wondering if it's a bit early for me yet though ...

That's how my labour with DD started (no dodgy tummy though, just the period pains).

Hope things get going soon & you're not left in an anxious/excited state for ages. Good luck!!

Stealth boast alert but 3 hours from when I went to hospital and when she popped out. Not bad for a PFB! Wink
