Hi all,

I'm due at the end of June, and was planning on starting my mat leave on the 7th but I think I want to start it at the beginning of June now. My boss already has cover in place and I have previously pre warned him that I may have to go earlier than I originally intended to and he said it was fine. I'm starting to struggle at bit now, parts of my job involve being up and about on my feet and work have been great and let me skip these and just do desk bound stuff, but now I've got PR carpal tunnel, so I'm even struggling with that! I don't want to leave mid month and leave everyone in the lurch, so I think the end of the month makes sense.

The only thing is that for some reason I feel really guilty! If someone else asked me this question I'd say do it but I can't shake the feeling that I'd be letting everyone down, WWYD?!

Thanks in advance Grin

PS I'll be 36 weeks by the start of June

If you are struggling now then go on leave as soon as you can, what's te point in running yourself ragged? I left at 29 weeks cos I can't manage anymore x

Stop when you need to. Only you know your body. if you are not sure ask your midwife. First pregnancy I stopped 2 weeks before I had stated on the form 36 wks instead of 38wks - I am a high school teacher, totally felt like I was letting my higher class down as I had been hoping to get the course finished before I left.

But I know I made the right choice for me and my baby's health. This time I worked until the date I stated on the form 39wks but have had an easier pregnancy.
