Hi I'm also having baby number 4 with an anterior placenta. I first felt little movements around 19wks but only if I was lying on my side. I'm now 25+wks and get much more movement but it's very different to my other pregnancies. It's usually at either side or low down and really strange internal movements if that makes sense!? I don't think it's having any impact on me bonding with my baby I'm still really excited!! In some ways it kind of feels more special as I'm the only one who feels it most of the time! Fingers crossed in a few wks it'll be the same for you!! X

Hi, yes I have an anterior placenta and didn't feel baby move for quite some time but am now 29 weeks and feeling him/her a lot but always low down. It hasn't stopped me bonding with baby but it is a bit disappointing as DH can't feel baby and I haven't been able to see my stomach move from baby's movements.

I have an anterior placenta, but because it's so low, I've been feeling a lot of movement from quite early on (about 16 weeks). I do have a blind spot though below my belly button where I never feel anything apart from the occasional roll - and even then I've only just started feeling them as they're so muffled.

The theory is that my placenta will move up quite soon (now 30 weeks) so I'm expecting I will start feeling less and less movement, which will be a bit scary!

I guess I'm the total opposite to you in some ways, but hopefully you're little one will start making its presence felt (and mine doesn't go too quiet!).

I had an anterior placenta with DD and wasn't convinced until 24 weeks. So different to this pregnancy when I could feel movements from 15/16 weeks

I didn't feel a thing until well past 20 weeks with DS, probably 24 or 25, but could see from scans that everything was fine. I used to get popcorn feeling at at the top of my bump which were kicks or tickles.

Me too. I'm 21 weeks and felt a good kick right by my belly button last night which was the first I'd felt.I can feel little movements very low down too. It is a little disappointing but I'm hoping they get stronger as I get further along.

I'm now 23 weeks and can now feel him thank god not really from the out side unless you wait a long time !!! Hubby felt him the other day but it was 1st thing in the am and he was kicking strong. It's so reassuring to feel him but still gutting that I don't feel him like I did my other kids

Hi Beckmum - I'm glad to her that you can feel your baby now. I'm 21 weeks and my placenta is at the front and I haven't felt anything either. Was beginning to feel a bit twitchy

I'm nearly 26 weeks with an anterior placenta and still only feel him as 'flips' deep inside me, can't imagine dh ever getting to feel him from the outside.

First felt him around 21 and a half weeks.

Even now it's not 'kicks' that I could 'count' as such so going to talk to MW about this at next appt and find out how I can be sure he's ok if I can't really feel a regular movement pattern (feeling movement seems to depend more on what position I am in than what he's doing).

I was the same with DD and it was really difficult not to worry all the time.

However, once I got to about 32 weeks there was a big increase in the frequency and strength of the movement - I think the baby eventually gets to a big enough size where you can properly feel them moving around, no matter where your placenta is. I ended up worrying that she was moving too much! She's now 5 weeks old and loves flailing her limbs around.

So try not to worry (although easier said than done) - you will start to feel more in time.

It will happen eventually when baby is bigger and that placenta cushion isn't big enough!
I started to feel small movements by about week 25, by week 32 i'd say they were pretty big and def enough to be seen and felt by dp.

I have an anterior placenta and felt movement a few times a day from 23 weeks but since 27 weeks I have noticed a more definite pattern and timings to my baby's kicks and jabs! At lunch my top moved as baby kept rolling around so the movements are getting a lot stronger. This is my first so didnt know what to expect.
