Have just got my longed for bfp! Tested on a whim really as going to join a fitness class and it was positive, was just about to start ivf as well so imagine my shock!
I'm just terrified that I've tested way too early and af will show her ugly face by monday and it was just a chemical preg, someone reassure me. Going to docs this afternoon on fertility clinics advice xx

Hey :) my last pregnancy I tested Friday and wasn't due till tuesday and obviously was worried that it wasn't real, but no af ever arrived till he was born that is. So I can completely understand why your worried. Just take it day by day, I'm sure it will be fine. Congratulations also :) xxx

Congrats!!! What wonderful news. I tested positive 4 days before af was due, and am now 8 weeks preg. Just to warn you, when i first went to the GP their crappy tests didn't show a positive (they're not very sensitive and it wasn't morning pee) so just take it with a pinch of salt if that happens to you. I went back a week later (having done loads of positive home tests) and finally the GP test came back positive. I hope you have an easy breezy pregnancy and a lovely new year baby! X

congrats!

I tested 5 days early with those first response tests and got a strong positive. i'm now nearly 14 weeks.

It wasnt early morning pee either - it was about 5pm!

Congratulations :) I know how it feels to not quite believe it, after 5yrs of TTC and being referred for IVF too! Thanks

Nobody knows what the future holds and sad things do happen but for now please just remember the mantra "today I am pregnant and I will enjoy it"

Congratulations Flowers

As someone said one day at a time.

We tried for 5 years too. I got my BFP 4 days before period was due. I was terrified of a chemical pregnancy. It didn't happen. I am just a week or so away from my due date now and it is natural to worry. Particularly when you have been waiting so long for your BFP.

You are pregnant today. It's wonderful.

Congratulations.

Welcome to the never ending worry of parenthood. Since I did my first positive i've always thought that the worry would subside when.... I reach 8 weeks, then the first trimester/ dating scan, 2nd scan, third trimester, 32 weeks I think their lungs can theoretically function, then when they're born safe and snuggled in your arms, then when you just check that your little snuggly bundle is breathing whilst trying not to wake them.

On the other hand theres seeing your little one at that first scan, hearing their heart beat for the first time, feeling flutterings of first movements, a closer/ better image at the second scan, and the wonderful smell and feel of a snuggly newborn that make every bit of stress worth while.

Glad you're going to your doctors and have medical advice available to you.

I am so pleased for you. I can't really give you any more reassurance than anyone else already has, but all you can do is try your best to be patient, until you can get it confirmed definitively. G and have a well-deserved rest :)

Ah congrats, I think I remember you from ttc boards! I tested early and was terrified too but now I'm only a week and a half away from my 12 week scan and keeping everything crossed Smile I paid for an 8 week private scan to see the heart beat early. Lots and lots of luck Thanks

Thankyou everyone :) alex, yes have been on ttc threads for so long in I never dreamed I'd be posting in here. Doctors wasn't overly concerned just booked me a double app for a few weeks and its just a waiting game tbh. Have tested again since I've been home and line is getting darker!! Eeek!!!

Massive congratulations Flowers I have also recently graduated from the ttc boards to here and am still a bit in shock. I got lots of the very cheap test from the supermarket after I had had a few possitives in different tests. Am know at 5 weeks and just about able to resist the urge to keep re testing!
I am going to have an early scan at 7 weeks too.

All the luck in the world heading your way x x x

Thankyou foody. Af wasn't due til monday and i'm finding myself terrified to go to the loo in case it arrives and its all over. Is this normal, i guess its because i'm cramping on and off just like pms cramps which i know is normal but its so stressful isn't it....once nxt week comes and i know for sure i've missed my period i'm hoping i can relax more xx

Congrats. I tested about 4 days early and then panicked. Especially as I got quite bad period cramps for a few days but I'm now 9 weeks and suffering with horrible morning sickness. Fingers crossed all is well for you x

congratulations, will keep my fingers crossed for you! I know how it feels to wait a long time for a bfp, and harder therefore to believe it is real when you get one. cramping is pretty normal at this point, I have had it with both pregnancies but I can totally understand why you are worrying. bet you are going to keep testing all weekend Grin

Congratulations! I'm another one who got a BFP just before starting fertility treatment Smile. I've had two DCs since then but agree with MisFor, that pregnancy & parenthood are a constant line of "I'll stop worrying when........" I'm currently on to "I'll stop worrying when DS1 gets his GCSE results in August" Grin.

Have a fabulous weekend & try to stay as stress free as possible Flowers.

This sounds very normal and I know it's a scary time. I also got my bfp about 4 days before AF due and I know exactly what you're going through, I was TTC for ages too.
Cramping definitely normal - at the time I felt pretty much the same as I would do normally before AF, I even got some very light bleeding (probably implantation).
I'm now 27 weeks and feeling baby kick all the time!
I took test every two days for about a fortnight (used internet cheapies) and although the difference was very gradual there was a definite darkening of the line which I found reassuring. I kept them next to my bed in a neat row so that I could compare! I wouldn't do them every day though because even after 2 days there was only a slight improvement.
A couple of weeks later I booked a private scan for 8 weeks, because I read that if there is a heartbeat and all is well by then, chances of progressing are between 98 and 99 pc. The anxiety doesn't go away, but it does ease as the days and weeks go by.
best of luck to you xxx

Hi - I felt really crampy and back-achey until the last couple of days, seems this is quite normal, but does feel alarmingly similar to menstral cramps for me (that and trapped wind!!).
I have stopped pant checking quite so painicaly every time I go to the loo, but am still checking, seems this is quite common too!
To cope with niggling doubts that were getting a bit worse I have POAS again today and it reasuringly told me it was 3+ weeks from conception (5 weeks pg) - was 2-3 weeks last week, so I feel reassured that the hormone is increasing and things are going ok. Must admit i bought clearblue digital 2 pack and 2 pack cheapy supermarket ones cause I am sure this wont be the last time I do this.
Oh and my cramping last week was worse than my menstral cramps, but like I say all is good at the moment.
Enjoy the sunshine if you can this weekend x x

Thankyou everyone for comments and conrats to those expecting :) I plan to have a break from testing today, chill out and enjoy the lovely weather by sitting in the garden. We have only done cheap tests so far all different brands and they all say the same. Have bought a clear blue digital to do after mon when af was due to give me more of an idea how far I am but have been told these aren't as sensitive. Enjoy your weekend everyone xx

Foodylicious, the knicker checking is a nightmare. I do have very very light spotting only when I wipe and its not everytime, had this even before I knew so I was convinced af was coming super early. I guess this is normal too xx

I got a BFP for DC2 15 years after having DC1 and I was convinced something would go wrong because we had wanted it for so long. DS is now 5 and I am expecting a very unexpected DC3!! A full 20 years after having DC1!!

Try and enjoy it even though you will naturally feel nervous. Congratulations!!
