If you don't mind me asking how long did it take you to get pregnant again following your miscarriage? I have just lost a baby and I'm curious about the average time frame for conceiving again. It took me almost 2 years for this pregnancy but I fell very easily with my first 2 8 and 9 years ago.

I should add that I am keen to try again asap and although I know everyone is different, I would rather speak to real people than relying on Google!

Sorry for your loss.

Took 7 months to get pregnant. MMC diagnosed at 12 weeks. Started trying as soon as bleeding stopped after ERPC. Pregnant after 4 months.

In the conception topic there are several threads with people ttc after mc. I found a lot of support there, and also once pregnant.

Thanks bonzo, I've been there and it's helped me so far. This is more an attempt to collect information from as many people possible. I would rather know real experiences as long as people don't mind sharing xx

Sorry for your mc. Rough, isn't it? Hmm I got pg 2 months after my mmc, and I had pills and an erpc after the pills didn't work. Bled for a couple of weeks. Went on holiday and had a period and then got pg! Now have a lovely 11month dd. good luck!

Also sorry to hear your news.

I took ages to get preg the 1st time, then had a MMC, found at 8 weeks - ERPC a few days later then light bleeding for another couple of weeks at least. (This was in Nov)

I took advice to wait for next AF before trying again as doc said it wasn't just for dating, she warned it would be very heavy and probably not "good quality" lining! To be fair, she was right in some ways, it was completely different, but much heavier with more clots and over much more quickly! It also helped me to plan ttc again more accurately as I knew where i was in my cycle.

I'm now at 16 weeks, due in early September, so I'm about 3 months behind where I was. You don't get over it, but it helps a lot once you are pregnant again I promise.

My miscarriage has come about naturally and a scan has confirmed that everything has come away. I hope this means that at least my body is dealing with it properly. It has been rough, but I just hope that it doesn't take another 18 months plus to conceive again.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I got pg after 18mo of trying and discovered a mmc at 12wk scan. Then got pg 2 weeks later but had another mmc picked up by an early scan at 8 weeks. Then got pg 6 weeks later with DS.
When ttc DC2, it took 12mo to get pg, then mc at 6 weeks. Got pg with DD 3mo later.

It is a huge roller coaster but well worth it. I will never forget my lost babies but am so grateful for DD & DS.

Sorry for your loss :( I had a Mc in August last year then fell pregnant next cycle and Mc again was really tough. I am pregnant now and it took 5 months. I am around 6 weeks now and a wreck! Be kind to yourself and seek support from those around you and professionals if needed. Wishing you all the best x

So sorry for your loss
I had a mc at 7wks, had 1af then pregnant next cycle unfortunatly mc again at 5 wks but pregnant before af and I'm currently 32wks, it had taken me 18months + previously to get pregnant with dd so either mc does make you more fertile or that and pregnancy itself, fx you don't have to wait aslong this time x

Thanks everyone for talking about such a personal subject. I hope it happens soon for anyone still waiting. The thought of another miscarriage terrifies me, but I feel like only being pregnant again will help me heal xx

Have heart OP, I'm currently 8 weeks with what I hope will become DC2. It took a month to fall pregnant when first trying for DC2, that ended in natural MC at 8 weeks. It then took another 10 months to fall pregnant and that ended in natural MC at 4+5. Happily it only took 3 months to conceive this one, please let it stick!!

Be tender with yourself, it'll happen.

Idratherbe congratulations on your pregnancy and sorry for your losses. I hope this is your time for a healthy baby and I wish you a happy pregnancy.

In everyone's experience, do you think miscarriage is more likely having already had 1?

I had mmc found at 10wks (had died at 7wks), had op in hospital & started trying within a fortnight. Got pg 3rd month of trying (so had 2 periods after mmc). Hope it happens for you soon.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, especially after waiting so long. I had a December miscarriage and was pregnant again in February with DD2. Best of luck.

Thank you everyone. I think my best way of coming through this pain is to focus on trying again. Thank you for giving me a bit of hope while it feels so dark and painful.

Had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks ( having taken 5 months ttc) than pregnant a month later, which was a healthy baby boy. Then miscarried at 6 weeks again last year and was pregnant again two months after! It's been true for me that it can happen very quickly after a miscarriage.

I had a MC at 9.5 weeks. As soon as it was confirmed that i had lost the baby i poured myself some wine and got some runny cheese and wrote a list of positive things I could do when not pregnant (scuba diving etc). When I went back to the hospital a few weeks later for a routine scan to check all was ok after the MC there was a heartbeat. I had conceived what would turn out to be my beautiful DS about 10 days after the MC - he's now nearly 4.
