So what day should I deliver?

Saw the OB yesterday and she told me to pick a day for the section and let her know! Any day after November 30th. I'm thinking December 4th because maybe it wouldn't be the best thing to deliver on Friday and be in hospital over the weekend - less staff available, etc.

So, any ideas?

On the other hand, you could maximise your dh/dp's paternity leave by delivering on a Saturday - that way he'd get 10 working days plus weekends at both ends...

As late as you can. I was given the option of a Friday or the following Tuesday with DD. Chose the Friday as I was desperate to get her out (big, heavy, miserable, etc.) and I wanted to meet her but I think she could have donw with a bit longer.

Friday was ok BTW. No staff but I don't think there ever is. Plus people were able to visit over the weekend. Female friends could come leaving their children with their husbands.

Ah, but dh is self-employed so it doesn't matter.

The plot thickens...

On the other hand, if you want to minimise your visitors, deliver on a Monday, as those people who can't/don't want to take time off work won't perster you until the following weekend Grin.

Agree with JennyWren, we went for a Friday delivery so all being well you should be out by the Monday afternoon and have 2 full weeks with dh/dp help.

I'm kind of liking the idea of minimizing visitors.

And if all else fails do the rhyme...
Mondays child is fair of face
Tuesdays child is full of grace
Wednesdays child is full of woe...etc

And decide what sort of child you want, bonny and blithe, happy and gay?
