Would love a remedy that actually worked so subbing for ideas.

I've been sick 5 times today, and felt bloody awful the rest of the time...

It really is different for everyone!

Go with your body tells you. If its craving for Hula Hoops or Salt & Vinegar crisps just have that.

Try and keep hydrated - that will help too.

I wore those travel sickness bands which worked for me - certainly noticed the difference when I took them off !

The only things that work for me are sparkling water and Extra chewing gum or some mints.

All that worked for me was eating non-stop! Plain, tasteless, carbs. Crisps, crackers, pasta. Hot cups of tea helped a little bit. If I remembered I kept a banana by the bed ready to eat as soon as I woke up as they seemed to help. Everyones different though, eat whatever you crave and hope for the best!

I agree, everyone is different, hope you feel better soon OP. I had horrendous sickness (up to 5 times a day) and when not sick, had nausea, truly awful at the time - you can't see the end, but it does come. My food intake from 5 weeks to 15 weeks consisted of:

Citrus fruits like clementines
Banana
Melon
Apples
Weetabix (went off in the end)
Toast
Crumpets
Crackers
Cheese
Hard Boiled eggs
Sandwiches (home made, blah to shop brought soggy ones Grin)
I just couldn't keep much down and went off all "fried" food and meat (v unlike me!)

One tip I was told was never get hungry. I used to take all of the above to work and just graze all day with no set meals. I did actually loose weight in my 1st trimester because my sickness and food intake was so bad made up for it by the 3rd trimesterGrin

Sour things worked for me. I used to eat lemons by the bucket-load. Also eating frequently. The hungrier you get the sicker you'll feel. Good luck finding something!

Eating non-stop: crackers, plain crisps and toast, humbugs ...

The two things that made a HUGE difference were: taking my vitamin in the evening (rather than first thing in the morning) and eating a rich tea biscuit before getting out of bed.

Hope this passes for you soon honey - don't do what I did (freak out on the days I had no morning sickness and make myself sick with worry), enjoy any restbites you get Wink

Everyone's different but both this time and last time, peanuts were something like a miracle cure for me - a handful of peanuts stopped the sickness in its tracks and actually made me feel OK.
Just as well they've taken them off the 'banned' list as I can now admit this to my midwife!

Salt and vinegar chipsticks...never ate them much before and haven't had them since ms stopped at 13 Weeks.

Acupuncture works for some people. It didn't stop me feeling sick but I definitely vomited less after having it.

Also if I went more than an hour and a half without eating something I was sick. Little and often was the best thing for me.

But I think you just have to wait it out! Lying on the sofa groaning was about all I could do for a few weeks.

cyclizine is my friend :)

been unlucky with hg myself. its awful. was doing well after my spell in hospital 2-3 weeks back but alas, my tablets finished on sunday and i thought i would try going without them to see if sickness had settled as id been feeling great. fast forward to last night and the vomiting came back with a vengeance. :( damn it! back to doc first thing for another lot.
ive found ive gone off sweet foods, been eating mostly cheese and oatcakes and toast as snacks, and living on my mums stew last few days.
ginger biccys do nothing. crackers sometimes help. eggs are disgusting when being sick.
ice cold flat coke was all i would drink when really dehydrated. can manage cups of tea now. when i was really bad i had to have tsp sugar in which i dont normally do.
if you are being sick through the day do go and see your gp. they can give you tablets to take to help, as even the nausea is horrendous and really debilitating(sp).

Still on cyclazine at 35 weeks.
For me:
Avoid tap water
Eat little and often
Get plenty of rest
Looking at screens tv, laptop, iPad makes it worse
Ask others for help.. Housework, cooking, child care etc

If you can't keep fluids down for more than a couple of days seek medical help, if GP useless go to A&E.
Hope you feel better soon.... It's bloody awful, but gets better eventually I promise.

Eating constantly.

And lots of sleep, I got bad in the afternoons/evenings when I was tired. Found that sleeping 12 hrs at night really helped with the sickness.

Get thee to the docs if its bad - i only went last week as I had atrocious nausea (no vomiting) from 5 weeks (now 13). Prescribed Phenergan (type of travel sickness tablets but work for nausea).

I struggled on for too long - don't be a martyr and do the same as me!
