You have very bad morning sickness when your having a girl?

My mum had 3 girls all extreme morning sickness all day until 20 weeks and when she had my brother she was only sick in the mornings for the first 3 months.

Be interested to hear from all other mums who have had little girls or boys.

I had horrendous sickness with both of mine until about 16 weeks.

One DD, one DS.

Very very mild sickness (once a day for about a week) and had a girl, no sickness and had a boy, 24/7 nausea but no vomiting for about 2 months this time round (17 weeks) can't update sex till August though!

it's just one of a million old wives tales OP.

In my case it does seem to be a bit true.
I had HG that only stopped when I gave birth to dd.

This time while Im 31 weeks at the min and still throw up in the morning its been a lot less and scans say I'll be having a ds.

I had a boy and a girl, both times no sickness or nausea at all except one single time with each, at around 14 weeks Confused. I wasn't sick just felt horrible nauseous for about twenty minutes then same again with dd.

Really bad sickness for 14 weeks with DC1 (boy)
Even worse sickness all the way through with DC2 (boy)

So false!

I had hyperemisis in the first few months with both my DS and DD. I was then mildly sick every day until they were born.

So completely false.

I vaguely recall reading some research that said of women admitted to hospital with severe hyperemesis they were more likely to have girls.

I had 2 dds and wasnt sick with either of them.

Not a twinge of nausea with DD, this time I had about three hours a day when I didn't feel sick up to 14 weeks but don't know what it is yet.

I don't think there's much in it, it depends on the individual, it was true for me though, I had ds and felt vaguely nauseous at about 5 weeks, then nothing until I was in labour when I barfed the whole way through. Dd1 I was as sick as a dog from before I found out until the day before she was born (I was still sick as hell in labour) dd2 again sick from the start to finish, and asked them to make sure they had lots of sick bowls in the labour room because I knew what was coming. sods law I didn't puke once!

I felt same level of sickness with all of them but preferred eating fruit and juicy with girls and stodgy things (Shreddies) with boy pregnancy. I was never actually sick but felt more sick throughout the whole day with girls for first 4 months but with my son i felt sick in the morning and evening.

Not much sickness with DC1 (apart from if I forgot to eat), boy.
Horrendous sickness with DC2 until 14 weeks, boy.

Never sick once, no nausea feelings either, all three pregnancies carried the same, all pretty identical, had girl then boy and expecting another boy. Load of twaddle!!

Report
Dogsmom · 05/03/2013 22:46

I felt nauseous 24/7 for 10 weeks but was never actually sick. DD is due in 4 days.

When The Duchess was admitted to hospital with HG, I saw some research reported that 55% of morning sickness pregnancies led to girls... So it's negligible but ever so slightly more probable, which is backed up by what has already been offered here.

I had hyperemesis my whole pregnancy with DD...

Not very much sickness with this pregnancy, convinced it was a boy... It's another girl!

Nausea when hungry with DS, HG with DD this time.
