You have very bad morning sickness when your having a girl?

My mum had 3 girls all extreme morning sickness all day until 20 weeks and when she had my brother she was only sick in the mornings for the first 3 months.

Be interested to hear from all other mums who have had little girls or boys.

Flisspaps Tue 05-Mar-13 09:20:47

I had horrendous sickness with both of mine until about 16 weeks.

One DD, one DS.

SuckingDiesel Tue 05-Mar-13 09:23:22

I had no sickness at all...girl.

My SiL had no sickness in any of her 3 pregnancies. All girls.

Novia Tue 05-Mar-13 09:24:05

No sickness and a girl.

FoofFighter Tue 05-Mar-13 10:11:04

Very very mild sickness (once a day for about a week) and had a girl, no sickness and had a boy, 24/7 nausea but no vomiting for about 2 months this time round (17 weeks) can't update sex till August though!

it's just one of a million old wives tales OP.

i had MS twice a day until 18 weeks with DD. I had hyperemesis with DS until 22 weeks.

minicreamegg Tue 05-Mar-13 10:30:56

I had morning sickness this time from 5wks, my 2 boys were no sickness and 2nd very bad nausea. I'm having my 3rd boy so not true. MIL had terrible sickness with all 4 of hers...all boys.

In my case it does seem to be a bit true.
I had HG that only stopped when I gave birth to dd.

This time while Im 31 weeks at the min and still throw up in the morning its been a lot less and scans say I'll be having a ds.

Hai1988 Tue 05-Mar-13 10:45:18

False! Have had hypermensis with all pregnancies, all boys.

akaemmafrost Tue 05-Mar-13 10:51:12

I had a boy and a girl, both times no sickness or nausea at all except one single time with each, at around 14 weeks confused. I wasn't sick just felt horrible nauseous for about twenty minutes then same again with dd.

MustafaCake Tue 05-Mar-13 10:56:42

Really bad sickness for 14 weeks with DC1 (boy)
Even worse sickness all the way through with DC2 (boy)

So false!

nenevomito Tue 05-Mar-13 10:58:39

I had hyperemisis in the first few months with both my DS and DD. I was then mildly sick every day until they were born.

So completely false.

roofio87 Tue 05-Mar-13 11:03:05

my mum had 3 girls and never had any morning sickness. neither did my sis and she has one of each!! I'm not suffering badly now (9w) but not taking it to mean anything!!

bumbez Tue 05-Mar-13 11:07:35

I vaguely recall reading some research that said of women admitted to hospital with severe hyperemesis they were more likely to have girls.

I had 2 dds and wasnt sick with either of them.

RugBugs Tue 05-Mar-13 11:16:57

Not a twinge of nausea with DD, this time I had about three hours a day when I didn't feel sick up to 14 weeks but don't know what it is yet.

Twattybollocks Tue 05-Mar-13 12:08:11

I don't think there's much in it, it depends on the individual, it was true for me though, I had ds and felt vaguely nauseous at about 5 weeks, then nothing until I was in labour when I barfed the whole way through. Dd1 I was as sick as a dog from before I found out until the day before she was born (I was still sick as hell in labour) dd2 again sick from the start to finish, and asked them to make sure they had lots of sick bowls in the labour room because I knew what was coming. sods law I didn't puke once!

Zipbangboom Tue 05-Mar-13 12:14:00

I felt same level of sickness with all of them but preferred eating fruit and juicy with girls and stodgy things (Shreddies) with boy pregnancy. I was never actually sick but felt more sick throughout the whole day with girls for first 4 months but with my son i felt sick in the morning and evening.

rrreow Tue 05-Mar-13 13:31:55

Not much sickness with DC1 (apart from if I forgot to eat), boy.
Horrendous sickness with DC2 until 14 weeks, boy.

Never sick once, no nausea feelings either, all three pregnancies carried the same, all pretty identical, had girl then boy and expecting another boy. Load of twaddle!!

Dogsmom Tue 05-Mar-13 22:46:04

I felt nauseous 24/7 for 10 weeks but was never actually sick. DD is due in 4 days.

BraveLilBear Wed 06-Mar-13 08:16:08

When The Duchess was admitted to hospital with HG, I saw some research reported that 55% of morning sickness pregnancies led to girls... So it's negligible but ever so slightly more probable, which is backed up by what has already been offered here.

curiousgeorgie Wed 06-Mar-13 08:52:19

I had hyperemesis my whole pregnancy with DD...

Not very much sickness with this pregnancy, convinced it was a boy... It's another girl!
