First stretch mark - is it the start of many?

Waaaaaaaaah! I'm 34+5 and very smugly thought I had gotten off without any stretch marks as I've had none to date. Have been oiling faithfully every day (I know there is no scientific proof to this, but thought it must help surely).

Anyway, was doing a bit of fanjo trimming with a mirror this morning (haven't seen it for weeks and weeks) and noticed a 'small' - I'd say about 5cm - stretch mark on the underside of my bump. I wailed so loudly DH came into the bathroom to see what was up.

Is this the end? Am I going to look like a tiger by the time I actually have this baby? Or is there hope that I might not get more than this teeny little one?

The only stretch mark I got was on my boob : ( It stretched from an A cup to a B cup. Real winner here. Can't wait for it to fade back to A cup glory with an awesome scar on it, from my "buxom days".

My boobs are covered in them and I'm only 21weeks! I dread to think what my bump will look like at the end.

It's probably not what you want to hear, but I got my first stretch mark at 31 weeks, and was completely covered by the end. I religiously put on Bio Oil but it didn't make any difference. I did put on loads of weight though, so I guess it's my fault. Hopefully it will remain at just 1 or 2 for you.

I got a few round my belly button at about 34 weeks last time, and some under my bump. They seemed to come on fairly suddenly but once there didn't get worse.

This time I'm around the same stage and feel very tight but so far no extra ones. Who knows what tomorrow will bring though.. Hmm

I don't think moisturising makes a whit of a difference to be honest.

I got mine at 40+5. Baby came at 40+6. Mine were low down like yours is and one year on I can't really see them anymore. Although I cried (ridiculous, I know) at the time, once baby was here I couldn't have cared less.

That's what happened to me too. Got a couple - not loads - during late pregnancy but more appeared afterwards as my body shrank back to "normal". They faded well though and are barely noticeable. I remember being upset at the time but you just have to get used to your new post baby body. You probably won't care that much when you have your baby in your arms anyway (is what I'm telling myself this time around haha)

I didn't have a single bump stretch mark with my DD (dc1) (boobs not so lucky), and got to 37wks before getting one with DS. It is a fairly 'substantial' mark, going from belly button to pubic region, like a little river with one or two small tributaries :) but that was it. My bump was bigger & lower second time, & I moisturised a hell of a lot less thank you 2yo DD :) so my skin took a lot more strain but I don't think being riddled with stretch marks is necessarily a given.

I got my first at 20-something weeks and only have a few on my hips and boobs.. It's really not the end of the world Hmm my bump was tiny and was constantly monitored as it didn't really grow but still got them, at the time I was mortified now he's a year old I'm pregnant again and really not that bothered now.

Didn't get any during pregnancy but did get some on the inside of my thighs after having DD or during having DD. But they are really hard to see now. Hope you don't get anymore!

thats exactly what happened to me just a small 5cm ish cluster.

they didnt spread nor did they fade away and i went on to have 2 more DCs without them changing or increasing.

I am only 14 weeks but feel that stretch marks will be an inevitability for me - I have them on my boobs and thighs from when I went through puberty! I clearly just do not have stretchy skin!
