Pregnancy

different movement sensations

Hello! I'm 19 weeks pregnant and think I've been feeling the baby move for a few weeks but not 100% sure what I'm feeling is the baby and have different sensations so wanted to know other's experiences.

Sometimes I get what is I guess traditional flutters - kind of like butterflies or vibrations inside... almost always on the right/centre - never left! Sometimes very faint and sometimes slightly stronger.

However I also sometimes get a tickly sensation - to the point that i physically touch my stomach instinctively to wipe it away... It's really weird it's almost like someone is tickling me... but it's more on the outside. I can't see it being anything else though as I've only had it the last few months and it's totally new - also just my stomach and again right or centre so I don't think it's just more sensitive skin.

So is it possibe to have two totally different sensatoins that are both the baby moving? Has anyone else had the second? Or do you think it's something totally different?

Also randomly just before my 12 week scan I felt a total ripple going through my stomach - I haven't had that before or since and it's been the strongest sensation I've had but I can't see it being the strongest movement at 12 weeks with nothing since (and I know the baby's ok as HB strong on doppler). Do you think that's just something different again? Maybe I'm just odd!

I never had the 'fluttering' other people talk about. Ever.

My first sensations were more like 'taps' or 'prods'. Quite distinctive but light tapping from the inside.

Now I just get good old fashioned rib kicking and squirming Smile. (33+2)

My description of initial movement was 'like being tickled from the inside'. I started to get more definite movements around 20 weeks. I've got to know my baby's movements and I can now feel the difference between kicks/punches(!) and when it's moving round. I think it gets easier as you get further along.

Previous pregnancy, all I got was the rib kicking and general turning. All this started in 2nd trimester. The current pregnancy, I've suffered from groin kicking and squirming that leaves me light-headed and my heart feels like its being pulled out of my chest. The groin kicking started before the 12wks and when I mentioned it to the sonographer, she said because the baby was breach and nothing can be done.

I'm 33+4 and still get the groin kicking even though MW said the baby is no longer breach.

I'm 30+5 now. I'm at work this morning and am getting more squirming than anything. When I sit down later I'll probably get more kicks.
