Ovarian cyst and white blood cells in urine - help!

In a nutshell, that's it! Had some pains today so went to have it checked out. I'm barely 6 weeks but the hospital was great at making sure I was taken seriously.

They gave me my first scan (not over the stomach, if you know what I mean...) and saw a dark circle which hopefully includes my baby! But they also found a large ovarian cyst on my right ovary (roughly 4x3cm). They also found white blood cells in my urine.

They said not to worry about the cyst and that it can be quite common in pregnancy. But I was so thrown by it I forgot to ask about the blood cells and they didn't mention anything after the test.

Any help with one or both of these (experiences, advice etc.) would be very welcome!

I had an ovarian cyst (6cm) at my 8 week and 12 week scan. They said they would just keep an eye on it, that it could absorb into the body and disappear or become a bit painful and possibly get larger due to being fed by hormones (and even if that did happen, it wasn't necessarily anything to worry about). They said if I had any major pain from that area to call the midwife and get another scan.

I had some niggling and sharp shooting pains in that area but nothing major, they tended to happen if I moved quickly or sneezed/coughed and didn't seem to be just from the cyst itself without any other factor IYSWIM. At my 20 week scan 4 weeks ago, the cyst is gone. So there you have it, it can disappear with no problems, as was my experience.

Keep an eye on how you feel and don't hesitate to call your midwife if you are worried, it's what they're there for Smile Good luck and congratulations!

(sorry, I don't know anything about white blood cells in the urine)

Thanks BagCat that's a big help! Luckily I've been told I'll get another scan in a fortnight so they're obviously monitoring the situation (and silver lining is I get extra peeks at my growing baby!)
