There are pretty much 5 years between each of mine (ds1 10 in March, ds2 5 in June and ds3 is due 2 days later). After ds1 I did get quite skinny at one point (after putting on 3 stone in pg!) but I was back in maternity clothes by 10 weeks as I showed a lot sooner than with ds1. Again I put on about 3 stone in that pregnancy but that time it took longer to loose the last stone and I never got back to how I was, even though much more active than after ds1 (maybe age didn't help). This time I started showing early again but haven't been checking the scales! Wink

Not quite sure if that answers your question? Think it varies from person to person

My sister is having her third after a 6.5 yr gap and it is much more like a first pregnancy eg she showed much later and baby's head is down and engaged early. She did get super fit in the the meantime though so her body was in the shape of its life!

I had an 11 year gap between my 3rd and 4th baby. I looked pregnant super quick despite years of dancing inbetween and pilates. Put it down to carrying more water in my 4th pregnancy and lack of muscle tone, due to age. The birth was like a 1st baby again though (38.5hrs), despite the midwife insisting my body would remember.

Personally I think most of the difference was down to being 11 years older, rather than it being my 4th pregnancy because I was smallest with my 3rd pregnancy, so that wasn't down to the number of previous pregnancies.

My first Dc will be 6 when his second one is born. I've started to show at 12 weeks, very bloated, didn't show till past 20 weeks first time.
