Pregnancy

A few weeks left...the longest wait in history?!

I'm 37+5 and beginning to feel like I will be pregnant forever. Lots of weird niggles but nothing significant happening yet.

I know the entire daytime tv schedule off by heart, it's truly appalling. I have terrible insomnia so lie awake at night, plus it takes me about 20 mins to turn over in bed due to SPD and massive bump. I am growing out of my maternity clothes, never before have I felt so attractive!

Despite all this I can't wait to meet baby when they come.

Anyone else want to pull up a seat and discuss the joys of late pregnancy?Wink

I am 40+forever and totally sympathise!
I just don't feel like me anymore what with all the hormonal stroppiness and grumpy miseries! I know it will be over soon but I wish this child would hurry up!!!

It's endless isn't it!

This sounds ridiculous but when I see someone on tv with a nice dress/top etc I think "I can't wait to wear normal clothes again". Not that I have any intention of rushing out to get a whole new wardrobe, it has just become a bit of a fantasy...Grin

Any signs for you yet?

Totally sympathise - I'm about 37 + 5 too and soooo fed up. This is dc3 so I have my hands full with two little ones and I'm just desperate for things to kick off as really struggling to keep up with them just now!

I was late with both of them as well which doesn't bode well! Even resorted to sex(which was not easy!) in an attempt to oust this one!

The last few weeks are horrendous - especially with everyone saying 'are you STILL here?' - eh yeah and not even overdue yet!

Yup, be prepared for the longest few weeks of your life.

I'm 39+6 and ready to scream.

If one more person texts/FBs "still no baby?", "any sign yet?", "any twinges?" Etc, etc I think I'll go insane. I mean really," oh yes I had a boy last week....did I not tell you??"

Report
SoHHKB · 16/01/2013 17:24

yeah - I feel really mean that my replies to texts and even in person are getting really short and rude Blush

There is nothing to say though is there! It's not like we would withhold the information that baby had in fact arrived...Hmm

This is my first so I never really know if I'm having BH or just stretching/ sitting on a nerve. Driving me insane.

I'm 38+1 today & am so over being pregnant it's not even funny.

DC1 was born at 34+1, & I was in hospital with pre-term labour at 27 & 29 weeks with this one - drugs to stop contractions, steroid injections, warned I was going to have another premature baby.

Whilst I'm grateful I'm full-term, I am now thoroughly fed up!

38+2 here. Fed up with being pregnant, but at the same time I'm feeling a bit sad that I'm near the end, as I know I'm not going to do it again.

I just hope I don't go too far over- DS was 2 weeks over his due date, and I felt like I was going to explode by the end. He's hopeless at being on time for anything, even now, nearly 4 years later! DD was only 4 days over, much more bearable. Though I didn't have anything ready as I assumed she'd take her time too.

Ana poor you being 2 weeks over with your last DC. If that happens to me I will sob...

Er.

40+17

I ended up deleting my FB account and putting my phone on silent.

37+5 here too and also have the loathsome SPD... threw caution to wind earlier in an attempt to get comfy laid flat out on the living room floor lasted 5mins and then it took twice as long doing a poor impression of a tortoise trying to get back up! Blush

This is my 1st baby too, so any twinge and I get excited, crossing my now lovely swollen sausage fingers hoping that it's starting and I'll get to meet my daughter sooner rather than later...

Can I join you? I'm 36+5 but already looking forward to the end. Watching 'one born every minute' and getting envious of women in labour. Also, like Ana, a tiny bit sad that this will be the last time I'm pg and trying to remind myself to enjoy it.

redwelly your post made me Grin. At 40+17 you really can't have too long to wait? Have the docs suggested induction and are you holding out? Round here they are quite reluctant to let you go past 40 +14.

The only way round it is cake for breakfast!

redwellybluewelly · 16/01/2013 21:30

Lime that was my last pg, not this one!

Midwives were happy to let me continue, risks of induction -> intervention were apparently less than a young fit healthy woman continuing a few extra days. Didn't end well but I well remember the endless waiting and I was too hot and too big to go anywhere or do anything.

But this one will go to 40+8 before any intervention and I'll set that as my due date IYSWIM Smile

Only 36+5 and already feeling ready...this is going to be a very long few weeks ahead. And daytime TV is such shite!

Lime Grin can't believe them BFPs were so many weeks ago!

40 weeks today and nothing - no show, no twinges, nada.

Empire, great to see you! 40 weeks today, wow! Fx things kick off soon... please post back with any news!

redwelly ah, sorry didn't realise that was last time! And setting 40+8 as your 'due date' this time sounds very sensible!

37+6 here and feeling ready, yesterday I think I overdid sitting on my ball, and was doing the sumo-waddle! Thankfully, I'm being induced before due date, is it bad that I'm counting down the days already?

Gosh yes. Only almost 35wks and am already going slowly mad. Can't decide if I'm desperate for baby to be born, or dreading having two under three to look after... If I could give birth, meet my baby, and then sleep for two weeks before having to face the reality of a newborn and a toddler, I'd be happy ;)

Can't sleep, DD has a dreadful cough so wakes every hour, eyes hurt I'm so tired, no appetite, bored of everything, right hip killing me, and alternate between being in pain from baby's movements (he somehow always manages to pick the exact spot where there's no room left!) and panicking that I haven't felt him move in, oh 30secs, so there must be a problem...

Having the inlaws visiting for a week isn't helping either...

Last night did not sleep until 4.30am, then woke up at 7...
Have come down with a cold and feel like my pelvis is splitting in half.

Other than that...HmmWink

orangetickle you'll be fine with 2 under 3. Exhausted, and shellshocked, but you'll cope. Just let your standards slip for, ooh, 6 months or so.

This time 2 years ago I was preparing for having 2 under 2. It was, without doubt, the hardest thing I've ever done, but well worth it. Now I'm preparing for 3 under 4.

I got the full 'ooh, aren't you big?' treatment from my crocheting class yesterday, including the teacher proclaiming that there was no way I'd make it to 40 weeks. I'm betting on going to about 41 weeks, I don't feel anywhere near ready.

whatsin hope you managed to get some rest yesterday.

orangetickle I know exactly how you feel, I'm 38 weeks with DC2 & DC1 is 2.3 years old. Had a massive wobble yesterday & couldn't stop crying, as stupid as it sounds I think it's just hit me that somehow I've got to survive with a newborn and a toddler this time.

Have now been booked for induction this Sat, am simultaneously glad it's nearly over but terrified of being induced!

Today I'm 40.5 and thoroughly fed up.

Not sleeping due to painful hips and swollen, painful hands.

Checking the loo after each visit for a sign, but nothing.

MW wants to sweep next Tuesday and I think I'll allow.

NAR4 · 18/01/2013 10:39

I'm 36 wks and already people are asking 'still pregnant then', despite me constantly telling them I had to be induced with all of my four children, so am highly unlikely to produce on my own this time, let alone early.

Really bad SPD, so moving is now agony and looking after my children, almost impossible.

Don't even want to think about the fact I probably have another 5-6 wks left before being induced.
