If you craved the same things second time round in pregnancy did you go on to have the same gender as your first? I know there's probably nothing in it, but just curious as to what others think! 7 weeks and craving raw carrots/ marmite on toast and cheese and potato pie and baked beans, exactly the same as last time, I have a DD 3yrs and wondering if this means "girl" again???

I am currently 32wks pregnant with DS2 I have been craving different things than with my first son: ice-cream, chocolate.. and this time is more like carrots, celery, houmous.. (so, same gender, different cravings) but then my pregnancy are in different season, i.e. DS1 was a "spring/summer preg" and this one is a "autumn/ winter" one... I haven't got a clue if I am in the right track for this theory though Grin

I had the same craving for both pregnancies which was peanut butter on toast. I ended up with one of each.

I craved McDonald's for both (2 girls) but then I always crave mcdonalds Wink
Think its rubish tbh and seen lots of people convince themselves it's a different gender ie sweet with a girl only to be dissapointed when it wasn't

FirstTime your doc could be right, I'm a veggie so an bound to be deficient in something or other!
Kitty, you probably are right, just thought it might be fun to see what others think! Grin

First time craved chocolate but only at the end of my pg. put it down to me needing the calories Grin

Second time it was olives, gherkins, pickles, pickled beet root, more olives, garlic olives, maybe a few olives Grin throughout my pg

Third time no cravings at all

All boys!!

course this is pure speculation
I've craved dairy - milk and cheese mostly, haven't had a yoghurt since I got pregnant in August! - and orange juice. I dunno if it actually mean anything but I'm (probably, scan wasn't 100% clear) expecting a girl!

I think it is interesting but wouldn't go shopping for gender specific clothes based on symptoms
I did notice with DS very hairy legs this time not very hairy at all for DD bodies and hormones are funny things!

I craved crisps with ds, white chocolate toblerone with dd, and this time, (apparently another dd) fresh fruit, malt loaf, milk and fruit toast. With ds I also ate a lot of meat, last time and this time I am completely off meat, can't face the stuff. one craving which has been universal in all my pregnancies is fresh orange juice. I drink it by the gallon, and it gives me hideous heartburn but I can't resist.

I don't have any cravings but have gone right off curry and I usually have 2-3 a week. I'm pregnant with a girl.

I've really gone off curry and like Dogsmom was at least 2 a week before. Also have found myself buying and eating a lot more fruit, rather than veggies. Hopefully we get to find out on the 25th Jan at 20 week scan and if so, will post again!

there are myths that is you crave sweet things its a girl and savoury or salty its a boy but i dont believe this as with my daughter i craved lemons and salt n vinegar crisps! im pretty sure cravings are just your body telling you what it needs although i could be wrong. xx

I'm 24 weeks pregnant with 1st DS.

Before we found out what I was having we were looking up old wives tales about gender (inc. cravings - since being pregnant I cannot stop craving sweet things) and 7/10 of the old wives tales on one website said I was having a girl and the only reason the other 3 didn't say girl is because we didn't do the tests.

Everyone was convinced I was having a girl but the scan could not have been clearer - he's definitely a boy and he's definitely a show off about it.

I'm currently pregnant with dc3 who we know for def is a girl but would say my cravings and not wanting things is more like my pregnancy with ds rather than my dd
