Anyone else had this while pregnant? Anything you can do to help with the pain and does it always get better straight after the birth (I hope so!!!)

take your rings off your fingers if you can as it will help to alleviate any pressure

Have you been given wrist splints to wear? They help loads. I had it with DD1 and it did ease quickly after delivery.

i currently have it and its agony. Am awaiting nerve tests and ultrasound. I find hanging my hand over the side of the bed in the morning helps and really stretching my hand span

I had it during my first pregnancy, there was nothing the Dr could do about it. I found it helped to raise my arms when I got the pins and needles, it made it go away quicker. It was always worse during the night.

I had it after first pregnancy, it can be treated with a steroid injection which is very effective (I also had it as a teenager) but you have to wait until you are nolonger pregnant or breast feeding - think I had to try anti inflamitaries first too.

I have it really badly at night. The midwife warned me to be careful drinking hot drinks incase i drop them. Been getting DP to give me a hand rub helps. It does ease off after an hour or so. I'm hoping it will ease quickly after the baby is born.

i had it in first pregnancy, i was reduced to not being able to do buttons and zips up, it started at night then eventually had it day in day out i had to wear splints in the last 3m of pregnancy, it went away immediately after delivery but i couldn't wear my ring for another 4weeks due to fluid retension

afraid it took several weeks for it to go completely for me (after birth i mean) - and i still had balloon hands for a good fortnight. in fcat i still can't get my wedding ring back on, 11 months later!! (more to do with being fatter than fluid methinks...)
