Aargh! I can't sleep? Is it just me?

Being awake all night was one of the things that caused me to take a pregnancy test...and yes I was. But this is getting ridiculous. Went ot bed at 11.00, and finally got up half an hour ago at 2.30, having had not a minute of sleep. It's driving me mad. Anyone else?

Not pregnant snotty baby attached to me which is why I'm not asleep so no pearls of wisdom, just didn't want you to feel on your own

BadMissM, me too Sad driving me and DH crazy and I have a 2.5 hour commute so I desperately need some rest! I'm hoping it's cos my mind is over active and excited (only got my BFP last Sunday) and will settle soon. Hope you get some sleep xx

Poor you!

I'm wide awake too. I manage to sleep the first part of the night but come 2,3,4 am I am a total insomniac!
Looks like DD (3) is having the same problems as she's just come into bed with me! :)

I am exactly the same. Only 5 weeks but not had a decent nights sleep in the last week. Hormones are clearly sending me mad! Waking up to pee (which I have never done before!) and then can't go back to sleep. Am exhausted so you are definitely not alone!

I'm exactly the same at 7 weeks! Morning everyone!

Oh dear, 27 weeks here and getting up to pee then staying awake is just a regularity now. I tend to go to bed around 10pm these days!! Need to get up for work in an hr and I think I'll be like I zombie today!

You're not alone - I'm 38 weeks today and have been awake since 3.45am. It's not been consistently like this throughout the pregnancy though - just got a bit worse the last couple of weeks.

I'm the same. Fall asleep fine then from 1 onwards most nights wake for a wee and that's me awake til almost 6 some days. The alarm goes off at 6.45 :( I'd be happy with waking for wees every hour if I could get back to sleep again lol

I can't get comfy. The crappy plumbing in this house is groaning. The cat is running up and down the stairs and making demon noises. How did I not notice this before? Angry

Luckily dp is staying at a friends so I don't also have to endure his snoring while I lie awake. And I ordered my pushchairs at night which has got me all excited! Swings and roundabouts eh?

And I thought I was just not sleeping because I was stressed/ excited / nervous - but clearly reading the above this is all normal! I am 5+2 weeks and have been exhausted at work this week yet am wide awake at 5am each morning - including today - Saturday!!

Oh dear...yes I have no idea what it does to us but I can't sleep either and I'm 35 weeks.

Strangely I managed it in the first trimester, and most of the day as I was sooooo knackered, it was like I'd been drugged. (even when I wasn't taking phenergan)

pregnancy is so wonderful innit

Was ok in first trimester but since then 8 hour sleeps have been rare. Am 37 weeks today and been pottering around since 4... Grab the rest whenever you can

Problem for me is needing to wee approximately once an hour. Hmm

I keep imagining how nice it would be to have a bed pan.

I go through stages! One night I sleep like a baby, then the next, once I wake up I can't sleep. Got my evening loo trips down to two a night now I'm 15+3. Bet it goes up again towards the end tho lol x

Only in first trimester, and have managed maybe one uninteruppted night's sleep in weeks! (and that was the day we moved house....) The night before we moved house managed a grand total of about 2 hours sleep. It's driving me insane. Am really tired in the daytime, but if I sleep then am even worse at night!!! I packed half of the boxes for moving house at 3am...

I'm awake, got to be up in 2.5 hours. Will feel like shit all day but if I slept during the day I would sleep even less at night. Baby due in 2wks so
It is only going to get worse!

Hi I'm awake also. 21+6. Acid plus snoring husband. Managed 11-1.30, nothing since. now I've had two glasses of milk and am sitting upright in bed!

Luckily don't have any plans for tomorrow except housework that can wait!

It's boring isn't it. I've woken up hungry and too hot. DH hasn't even come to bed yet, he's playing Trivial Pursuit (1988 edition) and drinking Whisky with friends downstairs...AND THEY'RE LAUGHING!

Report
BadMissM · 08/12/2012 09:28

Librarina Bah to noisy DH! Mine fidgets, and wakes me up everytime I finally start drifting by making funny noises, snoring, or trying to cuddle me in his sleep.... arrrrrrrgh!

I can't get comfy, the tiniest noise wakes me up, (am usually light sleeper but this is ridiculous). Between 10 and 8 am think I managed about 2 hours in fits and starts. Saw every hour pass on DH's annoyingly bright alarm clock....

Also stressing at 3am about unpacking house! Smile

I'm 28 weeks and having almost constant contractions for a few weeks but tonight they're the strong painful type. Not regular enough to wake the husband (who's on the sofa due to my lack of sleep) but enough to keep me awake.

Report
BadMissM · 15/12/2012 11:02

confuddled I haven't even got to that stage yet! I'm only 8-9 weeks, but haven't slept for most of those.

Annoyingly, I'm usually quite ill, but most of symptoms have abated since was pg. But sleep.. feel perpetually exhausted!
