I'm nearly 37 wks and have put on nearly 2 and half stone. Just hoping i don't put on much more. I've heard you don't gain much during the last few weeks - anyone else heard that too?

I think 2.5 stone is totally normal

I have put on about 2 stone so far (36 wks) but put on 3.5 stone with dd1!

Sympathise with the lack of mobility, one of the best things about giving birth, apart from the baby, is that you can dry your feet in comfort again!!
Don't know if its any consolation but I put on just over 2 and half stone and now, at 5 months, its all gone. An active toddler helps, I could lend her out Smile

Really, all gone after 5 months. That's encouraging!

Put on 5 stone with ds (just don't ask)

Within 9 months after was lighter than before him though, however it took about 5 months to get near pre-preg weight.

I've put on about 4lb so far with this one (21 weeks) due to extreme sickness so fingers crossed!

That Terri Dwyer was on loose women last week. She put on around 5.5 stone.....It happens, even to the famous, skinny ones.

I wouldn't worry so much now as you need to ensure baby gets all it needs. I put on 2.5 stone but still have just under 1 stone to loose.Sad. DD is now crawling and so will be walking so hopefully it should start to go.

Hiya,
With dd1 I put on 3 stone, lost a little bit then got pg with dd2 straight away. It didn't take too long and I was smaller then my pre pg weight.
Am now 25 weeks pg with dd3 and have already put on 21 pounds.
The average weight gain for an average weight person is 25-35 pounds (less if your bigger, more if your smaller).
Dont worry about it, am sure you'll lose those pg pounds soon enough after baby is born.

the weight gain issue has been a killer with me.... just recovering from anorexia.. periods returned then pregnant .... i have now put on 3 stones with 3 weeks to go and i hate it so much i have stopped looking in the mirror.... people don't help saying how massive i am but now they think i have a small neat bump????? My G.P reckons it is because i have started to eat a healthy diet that i have put the weight on and they say that because i was still under weight when i got pregnant the best thing i could have done to nurish my baby well and me was to put on more than what is classed as 'normal'... plus not hitting the gym every night anymore has contributed... but at least i know i can get back into shape after and be more healthy as now i EAT!!!!! Positive thinking and realistic goals that are acheivable are a key factor in beating the pregnancy weight gain depression.... there aint no way on this planet i am going down the anorexia route again for the sake of appearances...

Nicky you sound so healthy mentally, well done you, be very proud of yourself for surviving such a difficult illness, and for not jeaopardising your own or your baby's health because of it. I am in admiration of your attitude.

I put on just under 3 stones with ds! It just happened and I didn't eat a lot of junk or anything. A fair percentage was fluid which came off very quickly. And, really, the rest was off by the time he was 6 months. I think the key is not to fret about it unnecessarily. A good friend of mine said, It takes 9 months to put it on and 9 months to take it off! I like that way of thinking.

Put on 26lbs. Put on a fair bit in the last few weeks (about 2lbs a week), but gave birth 2 weeks early so was spared the last bit of pregnancy.

If it's any help you might lose the weight quickly. I lost all mine in 2 weeks (eating loads and b/f loads) and know lots of people who have done the same. 2 1/2 stone is not a lot really, so I wouldn't worry. Most of it will be baby weight.

I put on about 4.5 stone with ds and lost it all in 9 months, about 1.5 stone comes off straight away as its all baby and placenta etc. This time I ahve gained 20lbs and am 26weeks. I seem to be gaining about 2lbs a week which is puzzling as I can still just about fit into my size 12 jeans (with the button and zip open obviously). I am kind of being good or at least better than I was last time.I do stress too much about it though.

I made a mistake at work yesterday by weighing myself. Don't have scales at home but saw them at work and was tempted... Have put on 1.5 stone at 30+ weeks. It's odd because people keep telling me that it's all bump but how can it be?? My thighs and arms are a bit bigger but not much. My face is loads fuller and my calves and ankles and feet are just big swollen puddings! Unable to assess arse size accurately but not too bad (I hope) and boobs have gone from 32B to 32DD so surely a few pounds are hiding in my bra?

It's nice to hear people who last it all really quickly and great to hear how sorted out you sound nicky08. I have had body image probs in the past and it can be difficult to overcome but you sound amazing.
